If you have Hikari on your team when farming them, teach him Leaf Toss. Normal Octopuffs are killed with 500 leaves, Queens with 1000 leaves (1 boost), but if you go for Kings you need something else, like max boost Merciless Blade. Both moves auto hit and one shots them.

Whoever programmed the drop rate for DEEZ NUTS in this game really did it to torture us completionists. Like common 5% drop rate to get these nuts on top of that even with equipped accessories and skill it's still a real chore to find these octopuffs. I feel like the steal ability in this game is very underutilized in battle. They could of easily done something with that when nut farming. Dragon quest did it better with their seed drop rate at least that game guaranteed a drop after 2-3 encounters.

I'm a bit confused, what do you need the nuts for? You do not need them to complete everything in the entire game.

@@DraygoKorvan Well, I know the nuts are completely optional, but I've been playing JRPGs for so long and since I was alot younger and if I really like a game I sometimes get into the habit of farming stuff that's totally unnecessary for replayability. But I hate the fact that sometimes developers make some farming methods super tedious and inconvenient.

I'd also suggest you use the skill "stimulate" on the character right behind the octopuffs turn to get another magic attack in.

Have a hunter with step ahead and use leghold trap to make the octopuff move last.

I like cavern of waves, level 45 for king octopuff and has a small body of water to get the best encounter rates possible. 1 tip is remove the cait powder accessories so you get the best encounter rates for just the octopuffs

gotten two invigorating nuts from octopuff queens so far just in casual play not dedicated farming

Is there any areas in the wildlands that have water? I'd like to try my hand at farming a few crit nuts, but I can't find a body of water. I've seen them out of the water, but I don't want caits to spawn. Btw, there is another Alluring Ribbon and the Forbidden Shield also increases encounter rates. They all noticeably stack.

I just started the game and i heard of these rare monsters. I've encountered a cait and killed it using soulstones which i've heard of as well. is that the only way to kill them easily? and is there a way to get more of these soulstones? thanks! your videos are really informative

I wouldn't recommend soulstones cause then you'll be spending alot of leaves and you would have to keep going back grinding for money. Best way is just use magic to keep beating them.

@@yogokazunori do you have Osvald or Temenos? Either of them will work trust me. Make sure you have step ahead from the inventor job as a passive skill so you will always go first, this way they won't flee as much.
