I am glad I found your channel years ago. Running a one (wo)man show for almost 5 years I thought the time will come when all things settle. But as you mentioned, every day is a chalange, it is a puzzle. Your videos gave me support, especialy when I had/ have self doubts and things did not get like I expected them to be. So thank you! Keep up posting! We need you Doug!

I have been watching pets for several years now and never actually thought about starting a business, a groomer friend of mine said I should start one so I've just become a licensed pet sitter today and I'm working on insurance. Your videos have been very helpful

My soul dog passed almost a year ago. I’m struggling really hard with the fact that I didn’t do this while she was still here. All those hours away from my best friend to be in toxic places that just paid the bills. I’m hoping this can kind of make up for some of that and keep her here with me a little bit

How do you handle last minute cancelations the day before holiday? Pre planned and paid. My example is booked for 3 days overnight over holiday . Was just messaged the morning day before. One of their 3 dogs got sick and had to go to emergency, and they needed to cancel their trip. I am a single pet business owner, and i turned down other clients because they were booked. Views and thoughts.

I am in Central Texas. How do you deal with the heat? 100 degree heat is the norm for months during the year. There are very specific windows that are ok to walk. How can you make enough income during these times of year?

Thank you so much for the amazing and informative video! I had a question about the questionnaire you have for everyone to fill out during on-boarding. Is that in another video I can take a look at? Thanks again!

great video, you are such a level-headed, hardworking and sensible person and businessman. Just wondering, and you don't have to answer this if you don't want to, just wondering how old you are 😄

Thumbs up, subscibed today. You're videos are fantastic Doug! Fit, light, young older guy wanting to go this way. A few questions please. 1) Do you use a particular smartphone and/or camera set up for taking pics of your client's animals and making these videos? 2) How many miles on average would you say each dog walk is? That's tough to answer so if it helps, please tell me how many miles each day you think you walk while actually walking dogs each day. BTW, I'd vote for ya in a heartbeat if I lived in your area;)

I just started my channel. As I start to transition OFF the Wag app, I want to share some short unlisted/private video clips with the pet parents through my channel and use some footage for public use. Do you have to get permission from each pet parent to show their dog? The one or two shorts I made have generic backgrounds that dont' show personal information. I did that as a courtesy, but even so, has anyone ever told you to not show their animal? I'm torn between the two philosophy's of "open transparency" and "it's better to apologize than ask permission".
@DougtheDogGuy6 ай бұрын
Congrats on transitioning away from Wag, that’s great!! I highly recommend staying away from platforms like Rover and Wag. You do need to get permission to post photos or videos of the pets you’re caring for. We have a clause in our contract that gives us the right to use any photos or videos we take for promotional purposes and we do have some clients that don’t agree to that policy from time to time.
