@@JT-hq2cc You might be interested in the book The Romance of Reality. There seems to be a direction to all of this... which is the process of complexification, defined as the integration of differentiated parts into a more functional whole. This seems to occur at all levels of reality that we know of. quarks -> atoms -> molecules -> abiogenesis -> cells -> multicellular -> organisms -> groups -> societies -> nations -> ??? + biosphere Symbiosis and cooperation = complexification Sorry if this doesn't make sense!

Holy dog shi*t your "education" was a rip off. You were robbed, brother. They stole from you. They didn't want you on the same level as people, so they tricked you. They kep't you stupid, uneducated... You should go ask for your money back. That's how I got my start in life. They wrote me a 500 dollar check and boom, I was on the same track as them. So they'll probably teach you some school, or give you a few hundred dollars. Depending on where you want to go in life. Good luck!

ali ehsan Bro it is just a myth, nothing else! Look, How can a species like Dinosaur live without air and food underneath the earth 🌎? And can they survive living in an extremely hot lava/magma and the highly compressed surrounding. What I believe is, now they are there inside the earth in the converted form as Crude Oils🛢 and other Natural Resources. 🙂 Okay Bro? Don't ever be misguided by such a video. Those videos are absolutely fake and made only for personal benefit so that they can earn KZbin money. So Be Aware & Stay Away From Such Fake Videos. 🙂

I want to preface by saying that I LOVE Kurtzgesagt videos. It's amazing that such high quality content is available freely on the internet. However, as a geoscientist I noticed a pretty glaring (and perfectly dead wrong) claim in this particular video. At 3:42, you say that the lithosphere is a viscous, convective layer below the crust but the asthenosphere is more solid. This is exactly backwards. The lithosphere (which includes the crust) is brittle and behaves how we typically think of a solid. As you move deeper you hit the brittle-ductile transition where rock no longer breaks in a rigid fashion, but it instead flows and convects. This is the asthenosphere, and the lithosphere "floats" on it.

One of your best videos ever, trully magnificent and packed with information, with delightful graphics and narration and full of humor. I had to rewatch several parts of it to get all the information myself. Magnificent for all ages, simply congrats...

Watching awesome educational videos from this channel constantly remind me of how ridiculously tiny we are compared to the earth, the universe, or compared to the course of history and time. If anything it makes me worry less about petty things in life for a moment, and makes me happy that I'm a living creature capable of understanding things around us.

Danica The editor it's kinda weird. we have all this technology now, and know so much more, but we still teach it the exact same way. it's not like we tried a bunch of other ways and determined this to be the best.

The stupidity of a system that is ironically supposed to teach us and prepare us for "life" aka making us part of a system that makes us work for useless paper but backtracking it and making it vital for survival double sided dagger :P

There are some better teaching methods, such as Sudbury Valley education. Unfortunately, most of formalized education still follows the "industrial model" of trying to churn out standardized "workers" with a standard set of knowledge, which doesn't really work in today's society, even if it worked well for the industrial revolution...

crytocc I agree. I would have loved it I had a school were I could learn anything I wondered about, even as a gr.11 student. I still find myself questioning things and how they work, just more complex things. I don't know if it's me by I almost find myself being discouraged from asking these questions (whether that's by peers or teachers simply being unable to answer questions). Hopefully some point in the future we can actually adress this outdated way of doing things.

+Chris ar It's not just you! While there are some good teachers (in regular schools as well), in my experience they mostly just consider the curriculum to be most important, and since other questions get in the way of that... they're not really desired. Consequently, this creates an environment where the students just want to get through the lessons and go home... and so they discourage questions as well, because it means they need to spend more effort than strictly required. So yeah, it's completely understandable that you feel discouraged. If you're curious, I recommend seeking out knowledgeable people on your topics of interest, outside of school. I personally made the decision to drop out of high school and go my own way for similar reasons (and now work as a freelance software developer and tutor).

Luke Riley No matter what you do you cannot learn everything. You only have so many years of your life so you can only pick a few things about earth to learn. Chose wisely.

English doesn't matter much in science as long as you can understand a research papaer. Rest will be improved with time. My first language is not English but I'm doing fine in science. Don't take trolls serious. You can do it if u are willing to put an honest effort. Good luck!
