I think in a future patch Giants should turn off the needs rolling layer on crops that shouldn't benefit from it IRL or can't be rolled (olives and grapes)
@TheF0rseti2 жыл бұрын
The two towed harvesters have different characteristics and can be good for different playstyles. The Grimme EVO: needs topped taters, but can unload its bin while working. So the harvest is much faster, because it has never to stop if you unload it in time. Also the auger can be folded during harvest so it can be less frustratting with obstacles (like the bee hive in your video). The Ropa Keiler: Does not need topping, but needs to stop to unload. So a bit less investment and quicker harvest setup, but actually longer harvest time. Also the auger can't be folded during harvest. So while price, capacity and working width are identical, the playstyle really differs.

I suppose if you own the potato auger wagon which literally can't hold anything else but potatoes, the smart move would be to leave it full at the end of your harvest so that you can just refill the seeder from it when you replant the next year.
@FarmerKlein3 жыл бұрын
Its part of the specialty crop aspect things are designed to move potatoes with out damaging them and as such moving other things like grains will not work so good. But honestly I don't see why they couldn't be used to move beets also.
@neilharbott83943 жыл бұрын
I usually like a little MF5xxx or Fendt 300 sized tractor with narrows for topping (good to know that crop destruction is still in effect after topping - not a thing in FS17 or FS19), but we still need to make sure that the harvester & tractor aren't also ripping up the crop - I believe tractors are set up with wide spaced narrow twins, so drive between the rows and not damage the crop. Also, you missed mentioning the (belt system) pallet creator - allows you to make crates of potatoes (and sugar beets) for more efficient storage.

You can use the Grimme RH24-60 (conveyor/belt) to put potatoes in boxes/pallets, 1000L. Then you can reuse them for seeding. You can't load directly out of the boxes/pallets into the planting machine, so use forklift or something.
@FarmerKlein3 жыл бұрын
Indeed I forgot totally about that belt/pallet creation tool.

Since plowed fields don't grow weeds, do you need to use the hoe if you plow every time?

You shouldn't no as the only reason to hoe would be to remove the weeds.

i think that giants should change how rowed crops (potatos, corn, sunflower and maybe beet) work, cuz driving the grimme potato harvester by rows doesnt really work

does rolling still need doing after planting if you roll before planting and make a perfect seedbed to plant in to
@FarmerKlein3 жыл бұрын
Yes, rolling before planting does not seem to do anything as far as I can tell. I dont like the idea of rolling potato's as then you lose the mounds which are iconic of how potato fields look.

Einböck chopstar is not for potato. Its for corn. Look on internet.. And you can roll the field before you plant. It feels like many players aren't so interested in potato crop. Hope there will be a new dlc. Maybe with a potato sorter and washer. Maybe with a potato factory :)
@FarmerKlein3 жыл бұрын
The fact is its a hoe and there for will weed potato's as demonstrated in the video and when the field info requires a hoe for weed removal. Sure you can roll the field before planting to bad it then says it needs rolling as soon as you plant...
@neutralentr0py3 жыл бұрын
Looking at different vids specifically on weed testing I think scroft did, the small weed stages can be hard to eliminate using many of the other weeder options. This einbock chopstar is apparently good to get 100% of weeds so I actually use it for every crop type, any time up to large weed stage. Probably because it’s marked specifically as a hoe. Plus although it’s not the max width of the base game weeders it’s nearly up there anyway. That 10% debuff from herbicide man. reclaiming that makes mulching and rolling irrelevant.

I think you can't unload it because it turns the seeds into spuds so what'd it give you back seeds or spuds ? Though i don't think i'd be a money exploit at least as the price of seeds per 1000 litres tends to be higher then the price of potato's per 1000 liters, and they're not used in any production chains, yet.

it should unload them as taters if it allowed it.

i kinda dislike how the game / giants act as if some of the sugar beet / potato stuff was not usable for both types of root crops... like the auger wagons and the ropa maus e.g. As if an auger wagon that can handle beet could not handle potato... also probably the three point attached topper I mean fair game that the harvesters are not interchangeable and crop specific... that is pretty realistic... But a lot of the stuff needed for beets would fit potatos too and the other way around...

In the question of what came first, the chicken or the egg, technically the answer is the chicken because the chicken is our closest living relative to the dinosaur so technically the dinosaur came first. Try not to dig too deep into that as we dint know too much about how dinosaurs came about

I would say the egg came first. Only because of evolution a chicken came out of the egg.

It IS an official vehicle. It was part of the lineup in FS 19. Giants just has a tendency to use the "newer" machines instead. I'm personally hoping for some of the machines like the Grimme Maxtron from FS 15 to appear on the modhub.

I have my own style and part of that is to demonstrate how things are actually done not just toss up some background footage and talk through the process. Videos like that I end up asking myself at the end what did I actually just see or learn? usually its nothing useful that can be retained. My target on these videos is not someone who knows how to play the game already. I'm looking to provide useful information to the new player.
