I believe the retro collection is here to stay. There's definitely plenty of demand for these figures from collectors and still plenty more figures that Hasbro can make. Even if Hasbro was to run out of ideas for new figures they could still re-release pre existing ones and people would happily buy.

There's a bit of a perk with that 'Retro' quota they used for this line. Retro would mean it's from the 90's. Like potf 2 is Retro, Kenner created that in 1995 same yr toy story came out. These figures hasbroke is coming out with are inspired off the 70's and early 80's additions of kenners early work. Minus kenobi and mandalorian they're modern representations. The original figure inspirations should title this line 'The Kenner collection' because it was made by Kenner first before hasbro, in 2001 hasbro took over star wars line and Kenner closed its doors after hasbro bought kenners assets. The more important lines.

As an older collector I like these Retros👍🏻. I keep mine on card so there is no chance of mixing accessories with my loose Kenner figs. I do wish they incorporated the retro sticker in a better location than right on the card back photo. Looking forward to the second half of the original 12 and the RTOJ figs. Hey Mike, i’ve been watching your channel for over a year and I love your material. You’ve mentioned a few times about how slow Australia is to receive new figures but what I find funny is it seems Canada and you guys Downunder get things way earlier than we do in the good old USA. I’ve had my snow speeder Luke and bounty hunter two packs on pre-order for quite some time now with no delivery date in the near future. What’s crazier is while my things are on pre-order with false dates like 9-1-22 (that I still haven’t gotten), then run across the same figures in stores. I've been a huge fan of the SW 3.75" Retro line since it's inception. I think it is a fantastic way for fans to collect the original figures with the original looks, without that vintage price tag. I hope that they'll re-release all the 96 figures eventually on the retro cards for fans, although that might be a bit of a stretch and wishful thinking. I also like the retro style figures of unreleased and new properties as well. They really do go well with the old vintage stuff, and I think it's appropriate for fans to have more in the five POA style. I also like the prototype figures, although I'm feeling a little bit of fatigue on them, but I wouldn't mind a Biker Scout!! This was a wonderful review and recap of the retro series so far Mike, enjoyed every second of it and thought it was well laid out and explained. Looking forward to seeing what else comes down the line in the retro series, and hopefully many more to come.

I've been also picking up a few OG figures on the song and dance, and giving them return to life paint jobs, to get them back into my collection. GW Washes, Metals, and Inks do wonders to some of these old Star Wars veterans.

You commented on the Stormtrooper prototype head and body being the same color, I know the original figure's head and body was one piece. I don't know if you were lucky enough to have an original back in the Kenner days but they were solid body and head just like Chewbacca. I think its more than that. The retro collection is a nice throwback that looks great on the shelf. The Mandalorian figures from the RC feel like a continuation of vintage Kenner. If someone didn't know better those figures look like they belong to Kenner from back in the day.

The retro line is the only line I actually still buy , I'm not into the stuff from any of the Disney shows ( although I'll buy droids if they look good) I've got all the figures from the retro line that are from episodes 4,5,6 and the board game characters , I've bought a minimum of two of each ,I've bought 15 storm troopers for army building ,I'll do the same with the biker scout , I wish they had done the snow trooper .

These along with the Mission Fleet figures are actually the best figures for kids in my opinion. I have two kids and watching them play I noticed they don't stop to take the time to pose the figures, they just smash them together and make the pew pew noises. Also the price point, though still high for what you get imo, is much more reasonable than the vintage line which are also way more prone to break with normal kid play. I think Hasbro is targeting the nostalgia with older collectors with these, but in reality these are the figures they should really be getting out there and filling retail shelves with. My kids also love playing with the similar marvel retro line.

I remember thinking there were would be no chance of getting the Boba Fett Retro figure ( the standard version, not the prototype )...however EB had so many in store which was a bit of a shock. As a somewhat modern collector, I like this line. It gives people the ability to own these classic toys without throwing a ton of money. Also this could get kids to play with these characters. I feel hasbro should start catering to the younger generation of fans. Instead of giving even smaller ships and even smaller figures, bring back the fun 3.75 5 POA.

I picked up 4 of wave 2 in a buy 2 for £9 sale a couple of years back, sadly Yoda and Boba were missing. Great video! I only buy the original movie trilogy, and my only gripes are sticker placement (as others have said), and stop making duplicates across the different packs (Darth Vader, Boba, Obiwan, etc.) All they needed to do was setup a website and commit to making the whole lot right through to yak face and the last 13 over a number of years and I would have signed up for all of it. No interest in figures from the new properties like Mandalorian, etc. that’s effort wasted that could have gone on more originals 😀

For vintage collectors like myself (well, people who had them but no longer do like myself) I love the retro collection, but I feel I have to cherry pick the line. I don't care about Mandalorian or Obi-Wan series really that much to want to have those figures in the collection. And, I don't care for "prototype" figures either. Nope, just give me SW, ESB and ROTJ. And that is what I am collecting. I have all of them so far and the set with the vac metal droids pre-ordered (I have been waiting for this!) and as long as I limit myself to the original line not only will I save money but I will hopefully have a complete original collection of figures as I did when I was a kid. I just hope they make the rest from the original run.

I saw the new retro figures for these new shows. I guess they're ok. I have a few of the old guys, and started scooping up some collections of my old guys from when I was a little guy. One thing, though... Need more Imperials. Scouts, Stormtroopers, some officers, such as that Holy Grail blond Imp officer, and some of those Retro figures from the Video games wouldn't be something I would turn down. I hate to say it, but I kind of enjoy them. I never was one for playing by the rules, so adding in a bunch of these new freaks in with my Kang the Merciless from Buck Rodgers, and Dr Rinehart and Maximillian from The Black Hole enjoy the company on the Eagle 1 of a couple of more Droids and Micronaughts.

I hope the 2nd Return of the Jedi figures include Slave Leia, Sandtrooper, Han in Carbonite, Tie Fighter Pilot, Droids colorway Boba Fett, and Magazine Photoshoot Carrie Fisher with a smiling Slave Leia with bare feet.

I hate the huge sticker on the front (not that it matters as I open them all for my son to play with).

If I knew they would make them all I would definitely be in on the originals, but that dumb sticker is annoying, even though I would open them.
