I have sublimation prints that are from the 1980's and they still press well. They were bootleg prints from sports. Let them stay reasonably cool and dry, they will last for years

Great question! The metallic used in the video is actually our metallic heat transfer vinyl. So you would need the ink and paper for your sublimated design, as well as some metallic HTV

You can do it with an iron but it won’t be as good of a quality, it better to invest in a press they start at $150 for the small ones and if you’re using it for many shirts it works out

It could possibly be the type of ink you're using with the sublimation printer, or the Pantone color you're using - if it's not a true black, the sublimation ink will look like a faded black. I hope this helps!

Hello. Our Sublimation Transfers will work on a mug or plate if it has proper polymer coating. Be sure to check your blank hard good specs to see if they are compatible with sublimation. Good luck!

That's true! And that's why a lot of decorators use other print methods such as full-color heat transfers or heat transfer paper so they can print on dark fabrics.

One way to soften the hard box edge is to manually tear the paper around the design. It will have a kind of jagged teeth affect if that makes any sense but the hardness will be less severe.

Hi Michael - I would be sure to use garments that are only recommended for sublimation. At times, 385-400 degrees can be too much for some polyester garments to handle which creates the heat press mark. Brands like, Sublivie, were manufactured specifically for sublimation and can withhold the high heat and duration without scorching/creating a heat press mark or box.

In my experience with sublimation transfer I someteimes had the same bad stains on the shirt after transfering. They did not com from the press, this comes from some chemicals in the fabric. You can wash them out easyly with a normal washingmachine.

Stahls' TV I’ve been doing sublimation for a while, so I can help a little. When doing different substrates, you will use different time, temp, and pressure. Most companies that sell substrates will give you that information, based on the process that they use to make a certain item. But when starting out, it’s best that you start with what’s recommended then you can adjust based on how your equipment performs. When I started, for shirts, it was recommended to press at 400°, for 60 seconds with light pressure. But after testing and learning how my equipment performed, I lowered to temp to 385° and 45 seconds and still uses light pressure like Jenna did. But like I said earlier, it depends on the substrates you press, and they will provide recommended settings.
