Im still loving my 2021 manual. The whole point of it for me is almost zero maintenance and no break downs from belts. Just basic fluid changes and this thing is bulletproof.

Nice, just just a couple things: The fuel tank capacity is actually 9 gallons or 34 liters and the GYTR seat belt harness is also nice, but an upgraded accessory and does not come stock on an trim. Looking forward to your next rock crawling video with the YXZ 1000R Stephen!

Imperial gallons to US gallons. 7.5 IG = 9 US gallons. Who knew? But then again it's not the 1970's anymore.

1:04 Not exactly correct. YXZ with clutch pedal had a sequential up/down shift lever on console. Part of what made it fun in the beginning was "bangin' through gears".

Still love my 2016, Reliability is it's middle name. Only needed a battery and tore a sidewall on the stock tires the first year of ownership. Dunes and desert it's an absolute blast. If you don't use it as a plane or a submarine it will last for decades. But the comments are right, it's time Yamaha, the suspension is way behind. Time for a complete overhaul. Maybe YXZ 1000RR with around 200HP!

They nailed it. There is no need for a low range as long as you have a deep 1st. Comparing to my Hondas, the only purpose for low range is to have one lower gear.
@dannonebr6 ай бұрын
The 10,500 RPM rev limit makes up for a low range not to mention gives a lot of power range selection in every other gear.

@@zacharymorris9917 what I meant was that the 2024 model - according to many who have commented on this page is an old, obsolete machine and Yamaha should take an entirely different direction. I don't think so, that's why I bought a new 2024 YXZ mostly because of the new 6 speed gear box and because of the other incremental improvements Yamaha made to the machine over the years. I did not buy an earlier model because it had a somewhat poor low speed crawling ability and they came only in manual trannys. My left knee is shot and I hate CVTs. My point is that the base design of the original YXZ is good enough that all it needs are occasional improvements while keeping the original concept intact. It would be nice to have an optional D mode control like the Wolverine and Rmax, and they may be working that now.

I can NOT thank you enough for this video. I’ve been scouring the manual, the forums and videos to try and find out if those two connectors in the console were spare power. Two questions: 1. do you know if those are keyed power? 2. do you know the name of the connectors that I need to fit in those? THANK YOU!!!

paddle shifters not needed to be attached to steering wheel, if your steering wheel is turned beyond reaching the paddle, you shouldn't be shifting. If it was a standard tranny, would you be shifting in a turn that tight? Nope. I luv Yamaha products... thx for the video.

I’m a Yamaha fan, I have an rzr xp turbo had zero issues out of buggy, but what Yamaha needs to do is put a turbo model out factory and make it a trailing arm frame like koh buggy is sell a standard width and a wider width I’d buy one then frl where I’m at it’s need a bit more travel and more high clearance parts

They need to make it will a real cage. That’s not hard to do. Also they need to make service ports for easier service on the transmission. I love my 2019. Just needs some tweaks to make them even better.

I just don't like the idea of a standard transmission for aggressive off roaders like SxS. Just one more thing to worry about staying in the torque curve up rocky slopes and whatnot. I think off roaders like this are where CVTs shine.
@preston16147 ай бұрын
I love my standard transmission, I go everywhere that my friends in rzr and x3's go and I have so much more control. I can launch at 10k rpm's because I have a clutch, I can dump the clutch in a turn to slide the rear around, if i'm climbing I can stab the clutch to get my rpm's back up, I can engine brake, I can press the clutch to coast, my engine and driveline are always spinning together so I can let off the throttle and not get pulled backwards like a rubber band car. The only advantage the rubber bands have is uphill and downhill but a lot of that depends on the sequential driver and the only reason I gave cvt the win is because uphill and downhill is annoying in a standard. The trails don't have as much shifting.
