i played like 6 matches since the update came out and honestly valve cooked with the strafing and network improvements, the game is slowly feeling more like GO. if they'd only just add back cache, trash subtick (or actually fix it to remove delays) and bring back short matches, i'd be very happy. new skins are great too.

Aside from the bug fixes, 80% of the update is locked behind a paywall. I'd much rather CS return to not being free to play and have these included in the game. The cosmetics look cool and all,, but there are still core maps and game modes missing from the game that I believe the community would much rather have. Honestly it feels like Valve are pissing on us.

Obviously the “battle pass” is gonna cost money, with a cash market system it sort of has to be, otherwise even more bot accounts than there already exist would farm out all the skins making them basically worthless. You want to see bad paywalls? Play a fighting game like SF or Tekken, absolute dog shit battle passes along with buying new characters and even stages

You would think spending 15 dollars to get prime would warrant more than looking forward to a case drop every week. Using Overwatch 2 as an example, they literally give you free skins and credits to buy skins, and people still dislike their battlepass. I don't think it is wrong for people that spent 15 dollars on the game to want more than a case drop every week.

The changes to the model are very positive and it's a shame it took so long. This is one of the best quality of life updates because the models when strafing have been wrong until now. People are welcome to use and fund the barbie side of the game, it's sickening to me. All the casual game modes and features removed is showing what valve cares about. Most of the barbie market is taken up by aspiring faceit lvl 10's.

”Aside from bug fixes” - those are some big, complex overhauling changes that address the communitys worries. The model animations are a big thing that affects every game in every map, so it makes sense they spend a lot of time on this overhaul. While yes, it does fix many bugs, calling it a bug fix like fixing some pixel gaps just misses what must have taken significantly more resources. Additional features means additional bugs. As Valve (nor any other studio) can deliver new content without new bugs, I think the community is better off with this update.

@@carson5664 I’ve always seen the $15 prime thing as more of a deterrent for people making new accounts constantly for bot farming, cheating and smurfing. Like if youre just a regular player, $15 for 100s-1000s of hours of playing a game doesn’t seem too crazy, my YT premium is more than that per month. (Also pretty sure myself and a large number of people were just grandfathered into prime if you’ve had to game for a super long time, or I just don’t remember ever paying, started around 2015ish) But yeah other games have a sort of free portion to a battle pass, but CS is sort of unique cause of the actual cash value of items

They seem to have changed something with the networking, even though the patch notes only indicate that it's the way networking is communicated. Since this update, my packet loss is going crazy, jumping from 0 to 30% both up and down. This never happened before and I'm teleporting everywhere. It doesn't last long and will go back down to zero within a few seconds, but then will happen again in a few minutes. If anyone else is experiencing this, it would be nice to know it's not just me :)

I’ve only been playing CS for 3 months, and I’ve made the most progress thanks to your videos on aiming, peeking, etc. I would be super excited if you made a video about movement. When I watch tournament gameplays or your streams, I often see knife taps and quick turns, or similar techniques. A guide on how to move quickly and efficiently would be fantastic!

It was a great step in the right direction. I also agree with you in that we have to celebrate getting something. CS2 is not going anywhere in the end. I do think that a leak of some sort of content would be really well received right now and quell a lot of the playerbase's fears. I would also love for them to integrate community servers into the main menu as I believe that the community could develop content on their own with the right support from Valve.

I just think it sucks that the biggest update so far has been a couple of cases and some network/animation bug fixes that should've been there on launch. But atleast we get to pay more than 15 bucks so we can play the game like normal but have a chance to unlock shitty skins. They didn't even add missions or anything like that. Disappointing.

Those are some huge improvements. The animations CS2 has are impressive and very much non-trivial to improve and get right. You can’t just half-bake such changes, so it makes sense they work on it for a while before releasing a bigger overhaul like this. These are not bug-fixes comparable to fixing maps or even some of the audio issues. They probably took more resources than a new operation would. They also had to do new UI for the charms, which was a nice addition to the game, as well as the slider for stickers. That is very different from just adding some stickers and skins to sell. I don’t really know what the people brushing this off as ”bug fixes and paywalled cosmetics” want from Valve. I think these clearly add more value to the game than an operation would. They delivered on some of the biggest complaints from community, and no doubt are working on the rest as well. Change in map pool would have been nice, but honestly it is better to improve the current pool instead of adding a new map with new bugs that inevitably escape the development process. It’s a big update. And it has shiny new things as well.

According to valve, 128 is not the experience the game was meant for and therefore a bug. Valve have more money than god, 128 tick servers aren’t their financial breaking point

The update is nice to see they are alive. However i really wish they focused on more content update like a new season of premier, obviously the cheater problem, even adding overwatch to at least more trusted people, they are slowly fixing the game but i can either play faceit or play cheaters and faceit matches take like 7 minutes to look for and after getting level 10 i'd love an official valve leaderboard to see the top players, Something like valorant but made with that valve flair. Either way i want the best for this game but valves making sure we feel every month between updates

Hey, I have some random questions. How do I find out if I am visible to an enemy if I am hiding in a particular spot. Like, is there a way to watch yourself from another angle to see whether your gun barrel is sticking out or your hand is visible etc. How to train for this in practice?? I really want to know how much visible I am to an enemy in a particular position. Another thing is how to awp at suicide in dust2, sometimes on ct side the enemy's head just pops up, they kill me and the head goes down again. So I was just looking for awping tricks and tips (basics also). How to scan an area with an awp etc??

I dropped from 17k to 10k in days, games full with cheaters even in my teams, worse case i got was 6 cheaters on the map, i reported and blocked them only 3 have their account deleted, not banned, just deleted so I guess that just what they do. Create/buy fake accout, cheat, next day rince and repeat.

+ they should have fixed the strafing legs. Now characters dont fix their position but are on flat ground standing flat all the time. They could have just fixed it but they took it off instead. Tbh when the issue of cheaters is as glaring as it is (and has been for a while) any "big update" that brings tons of stuff to spend money on but zero mention of anticheat measures is gonna bring some outrage. The game does feel a bit better to play at least, and I like many of the new cosmetics. But for the love of god at least communicate something about anticheat. And optimizing the game a bit, like at least something about the issue where the game loses performance and makes jumps more inconsistent the longer a map is loaded for. And some new maps for the love of god. I'm not even saying to release them now but at least communicate something, because while I think it's likely they are working on at least two of the things I just mentioned, it's not certain, and they're leaving their playerbase to think that the game might stay like this forever.
