While it was supposed to be available late last year, production for 2.7L trucks were reportedly added into the Wayne, MI plant's job queue around early May time frame, so trucks with that engine should hopefully start filtering out to dealers and customers as we roll into the fall. Great to know Zach, in their weekly live show, Long Mcarthur noted that the 2.7 is in production right now. I’m from Canada and I see 4 2.7 rangers listed by dealerships and all of them are “incoming”. I went the order route and basically it’s a Hail Mary!

Do not complain about the price of the new Ranger Raptor. Over here in Europe it's double the price, with engine tuned down to only 292 HP because of emissions. What you pay for Raptor is what we pay for the base model.

@@freedomisntfree_44 i ordered a wildtrak ranger with a v6 3 litre diesl, its the highest ranger outside of the Platinum (way over the top luxuriours for a work truck) you can get here. I ordered last December, and if LUCKY i get it in early september. Its 72 k Euro MSRP in my Case, (ca 80 k dollars), as i use it for my business i got it without VAT (19) and a rebate from Ford for 47.500 net. which is a good deal actually, if you were in Austria or Netherlands calculate 50-60 % bonus Tax for high CO2-Emissions on the buying price... INSANE PRICES. (in Austria a TRX Dodge truck goes for over 200.000 Dollars because of Co2-Tax) Ford is known to give huge discounts from MSRP in Europe, some 12-18% are achievable most of the time. You might want to pay up a few grand for finished cars so you dont have to wait a year for the order (yep due the enormous popularity of Ranger / Amarok, the waiting times on the more higher-classed Variants got even longer, i was named ca 8-10 month when i orderd, now its over a year). The lower trims have 2 liter diesel , turbo and biturbo variant, but those dont have permanent all Wheel drive on the street (which is a key argument for the ford ranger). Somehow if you want roadgoing perm AWD, u need the Wildtrak Variant with the 3 litre Diesel Motor. Mine was 72 k Euros MSRP (ca 85 k Dollars). The raptor is not a a Utility car , its a lifestyle car for fun. it has way less payload and tows only 2.5 tons ( a ton less than even the lowest of ranger variants can). The raptor was available with the 2 liter Diesel, and also with a V6 Gasoline Engine. Its generally cheaper as the higher Ranger Variants (wildtrack / Platinum), but they dont sell that well ( cant pull 2 heavy showjump / dressage horses with it, has a gasoline Engine which no work truck needs)

Agreed, 100% I have the same complaint with mine. IMO any vehicle getting 20mpg or less should have at a minimum a 25 gallon fuel tank. I will say it is a heck of a lot better then my 2dr 2.7L Bronco's Badlands it gets the same 16-17 mpg and only has a 16 gallon tank. LOL It too needs a 25 gallon tank.

You can reboot the screen with the steering wheel if it gets stuck during boot up, also if you turn off the auto updates it seems to help with the locked up screen, I’m not sure if its trying to check for updates when it boots and gets stuck if it can’t reach the ford server.

I agree 100%, and what really irritates me is the ventilated seats and rear seat vents are on these Ranger trucks that are sold overseas. I really do not understand why they spent the money to developed those features and yet they don't offer them here on the US versions. Maybe they will add them to the US versions for 2025. I am big fan of heads up displays as well.

Let me correct you, you did not test the top dog Frontier against all the other midsizers out there. You tested a lower trim Hardbody Frontier. The Frontier Pro-4X is a great truck for the price.

Something that is never mentioned is the Issue on the bed support that is needed to install a shell. You need to order a kit from ford to do so.😡

The dealer makes money even if they sell at the invoice. Ford gives the dealer 3 % of the total msrp amount for selling the car or truck. So the dealer makes the 3 % even if they sell it at their invoice. Its called dealer hold back, automotive jargon.

Nothing weird about the onroad review of the TRD PRO. How many people can buy such an expensive truck for offroading only, and then have to buy another car/truck for daily driving ? We all know such trucks can do pretty much everything off road, but let's see it on road, can it handle curvy roads, how does it drive with 500+ lbs of load in the bed etc, or it's completely useless on the road and is just an offroad toy.

Hood is aluminum (soft) and owners would might taco the hood at the hinge point when closing. Ford was assessing risk in the decision and a prop rod is foolproof.
