Climb Kili seems to be very efficient. The mattress is thin, but I know it is better than nothing. It is true, those boots are heavy, but are the most comfortable, that is, for me. The grip is good. Waking up early is very hard for me, but in an adventure, well.... I like that spring of water. Diamox... never heard of it and it is good to know. I was very very surprised to realize there are many people climbing, sometimes I think it is only the ones we see. The lack of oxygen thing makes me feel breathless. The place that had the least oxygen is the one that was most crowded. 12: 18 😂😂😂😂😂. That part about relieving ourselves is so so so helpful. Nice adventure.

Glad you both enjoyed your first climb.As far as boots are concerned I always used Scarpa leather boots made in Italy they were wonderful but pricey and worth every cent. The great problem with modern boots are that many of them are made of manmade materials Gortex was originally made for higher altitudes and worked well and at lower altitudes they tended to sweat inside. If you are carrying your own gear you make it as light as possible even in places like the Himalaya or Karakoram the more stuff you have the more porters you need and the more you have to pay.So my advice to everyone make it as light as possible but don,t be stupid about it.

Great information, thanks a lot. Just one little issue: I beg to differ about portable speakers. If I go hiking in nature, even more so in a foreign part of the world, the last thing I want to hear is someone else‘s playlist. Please, use headphones if you must.

Excellent advice and so glad you guys achieved this. Just a thought re the water my son drank direct from the source on one day only and at the end of trip, he got to the top fine, but after coming down he ended up in hospital and was very sick from drinking the water. So take care with that.

High-altitude med is probably not a great label for acetazolamide, it is a diuretic that happens to lower the blood pH.

Great vid, I like how you went into more detail about the return trip downhill and the water situation. Wanted to ask, how did you deal with any blisters or chafing? I'm assuming walking so much all of a sudden has to have taken a toll on your skin.

Are your preparations on for the india trip?? You must have your bucket list for the towns you will be visiting,small suggestions you can check out on Internet and also youtube where you will find many videos the hillstations of shimla and ooty are very beautifull and also mahableshwar and lonavla which are near to Mumbai in case you are in Mumbai you can visit for a day or 2 to mahableshwar and lonavla
