So theory!! I think papa Sorrengail told Lilith about Andarna and that Violet needed to be a rider. So that once he passed- then Lilith pushed Violet in the riders quadrant without seeming suspicious 6 months after his death. Plus Lilith didn’t seem overly shocked at seeing Andarna at threshing. She just wanted Violet to say the names. I think Lilith knew more too.

Ooohhh I loved this debrief. I agree with Lexi at the end there about Violets second signet, but I'm also hesitant to jump full into it because in the moment it was spicy. Xaden develops a tendency to lose control during spicy moments. And in that moment she says his shimmering onyx wrapped around her mind and then it dives into his thoughts. I'm leaning towards thinking it was his walls absolutely crumbling. Every once of control absolutely gone. In that moment he was determined and desperate to make her understand how much he wanted and needed only her, that was the whole point of him only giving and not wanting to receive anything in return. Although the missing quotation marks also give me a halt on that train of thought. Gosh I cannot wait until we get confirmation on what her second signet is. There's one time where violet states what she needs and it's honesty. Which she was saying to Xaden during a fight, but it's something we know she needs in general so I'm definitely leaning towards it's SOMETHING mind related. Im dying to get my hands on onyx storm

I don't mind ads in podcasts, I went back and checked and there were 5 ad breaks in an hour long episode, but they were pretty short. I think it's more that I'm not used to this type of ad break anymore, I watch a 2+ hour long podcast and they have one or two longer segments and that's it, it doesn't interrupt the content as much. Here on the other hand wasn't that bad time wise, but the interruptions threw me off lol.

I'm just going to leave this here: I think Violet's second signet is intinsic in a way that she can manifest her mental self in the perspective of others' minds -- almost like a mental astral projection. She did it in Fourth Wing when she saw through Andarna's eyes viewing her dragon-given back tattoo. She did it in Iron Flame on the throne when she was having an intimate moment with Xaden; not just in his mind from the bond, but being in his POV. (p.461) Then again, (p.610) was mentally in Tairn's POV at the end of Iron Flame in mid flight, while she was at the wardstone.

Okay so literally NO ONE talks about this and I actually think it's a clue to Violet's second signet. In the scene where she first starts channeling she says "an image of falling fills my mind & I feel the sizzle of flakes as they make contact w/my heated skin" she was inside, however when she goes outside it's snowing and she sees Xaden without a coat on. This HAS to mean something.

ALSO, in IF, when they go to Cordyn and Cat annoys the shit out of Violet, there's a momen *written in italics* about splintering wood and daggers falling. Some 20 or so pages after this, Violet has to weild lightning and they bring the box containing the venin, and it is described as the wood of the box breaking and some daggers hitting the ground 👀

I really think Violet’s second signet has to do with the questions! She can compel people to answer her questions. RY has talked a lot about the first draft ending where she asks Xaden a ton of questions and he answers them all. Xaden also knew he couldn’t lie to her when she asked him about his second signet. Also, second crack theory… Brennan is being kept alive by his rune (Wyvern style) because Naolin is venin! That why he refused to go to Basgiath to help, he couldn’t cross the wards. But he was there as soon as the wards fell. And as we know, venin can survive inside the wards (as can the twitching Wyvern).

As much as I want her to be an intinnsic. Rebeccas hint of it being under whelming makes me think it's distance wielding. Someone has to have it and her running, needing to be faster. Traveling to Xaden faster and faster every trip. And especially in the end battle scenes where she is described as being in one place then another and just being fast. I think it's more obvious on the page

I swear her second signet is storm wielder because in Iron Flame when she fought the dark wielder in the box after Andarna woke up at the palace and the storm that came helped her defeat it. On page 583 in Iron Flame it says “…and I pulling lighting from the sky so quickly that I no longer feel like I direct storm. I am the storm” and multiple other hints like that makes me believe she can be a storm wielder. What are your thoughts?

With the throne scene, something’s weird, BUT didn’t Xaden already do this in Fourth Wing when Violet is training with Carr for the first time and he shows her his mind from his POV? Another scene no one talks about is when she’s with Dane with ward stone and he starts imbuing it and she’s surprised. He says “I thought that’s what you wanted” or something like that. In the throne scene she says that Xaden gave her exactly what she needed. It’s like an influence, and she gets what she needs in the moment.

Do we know what the different rune/shapes mean yet? Just noticed they are layered on the book covers. 2nd signet theory- i think violets second signet is tied to giving life/ healing. Xaden is shadow and now can literally suck the life force out of the earth and living things. I think violet is the opposite, she is light/energy and will somehow give life back. I think the one thing she needs more than information is to live, her mantra every day and the constant theme is i will not die today, i need to feel alive, it then it shifts to i will save him in OS. Xaden has no issue taking life in different ways, violet is constantly trying to save/preserve as many as she can. They are balancing each other like nature intends. There’s my hill.

My newest theory that literally hit me while listening: What if Violet finds out the truth about her mom's sickness and then henceforth why her hair color bleeds to silver at the ends is in Papa Sorrengails research? And that's also the reason why he was researching the second uprising and feathertaisl in hopes of a "cure" to give violet all of her health/strength/coloring back?

Okay on my reread I've noticed two things one mira tells Violet to not try to channel power without being a bonded Rider... She says power. Not magic or sygnet but power.... Just odd Another thing I noticed is when Violet and xadeb are talking about the book of fables... she talks about one Fable that talks "about a great evil that spread across the land as Man became corrupted by dark magic and turn into creatures known as Venin" "Another talks about the dangers of wielding power from the ground instead of the Skies as one could easily start drawing Magic from the earth and eventually be driven mad" " and we certainly never want to try to control magic without a dragon to ground us" I still feel like I'm willing to die on my hill that drawing power from the earth is not the same thing as becoming Venin.... I'm still holding to this is going to be a it's the choices that you make thing that makes you evil not where you're drawing the power from

No one talk about this from what I have seem but while rereading I noticed something. The runes! There are runes in the wyvern and there is a throwaway sentence that is used when mira and violet notice it: something about who is giving the venin runes?!? And that made me think of Xaden’s mother. Their region is known for runes and there are theories that maybe she turned venin so this made me think about that theory a lot and about who light be providing the venin with runes. Or maybe it’s someone in the revolution? Brennan? Someone else?

I can't lie, I have been thinking this since I finished iron flame, if yarros wants to absolutely rip out our hearts, which I think she does........... She's going to make xaden the actual big villain. This book could literally be named onyx storm due to xaden going through his change into a full on venin and violet having to weather that storm physically and emotionally. Idk I just feel like that would catch everyone off guard and make the story so unpredictable we would always be worried the worst was going to happen when we pick the books up. Which makes it more interesting
