Great video Oliver. I want a greenhouse but even if I could get approval from the boss I don’t want all the hassle of electricity for heating, cooling, fans etc. If I put it in the sun it’ll overheat, in the shade I’ll need lights…

It's the never ending battle. I need to get an electrian to come run new circuit breakers for when I build the next one. It's getting abit out of hand

I recently obtained a rajaxklossi . I am wondering your thoughts on temp and humidity starter range for this species or parent species. I live in San Diego ca. and have 2 Alta’s and 1 gaya outside and have been doing fair enough in the garden area I have set up for them . Thanks for your time and any others help.

I haven't personally haven't grown klossi but I know rajah definitely needs decent highland temps to thrive. I'd be aiming for 25°c days and 14°c nights and 70-80% humidity. They might be abit more tolerant being a hybrid and klossi range does reach down to 900m above sea level.

Great video! I’m here in south africa and grow mostly sarracenia, sundews and venus flytraps outside and my cephs, nepenthes and butterworts inside in a windowsill, but I ordered a greenhouse because my outside plants got destroyed by hail recently. Will it be possible to move the cephalotus, nepenthes and butterworts inside the greenhouse with the other plants or what would you recommend. I will keep the greenhouse door mostly open because we get temps up to 40 degreess celcius in summer. I am also looking to get more nepenthes and heliamphora in the future. The greenhouse isnt that big, its 2m by 1.4m.

That sounds like a great set up, you'll want to make sure the Cephs get good air circulation and some shade and they should be fine. Sarracenia need alot more light then neps and lower humidity so might be hard to combine them in the same GH

I'm completely brutal with mine. I just put them straight outside. Probably a good idea to wait for a week with mild conditions and higher humidity and maybe start them somewhere shaded then slowly move them to more sun light.

hi, Ahoj I'm new to the carnivorous plant scene help. I recently bought sundew seeds on Amazon. Drosera seeds 100 seeds (Mix) 1.) Do filter jugs make sense? 2.) Is sundew from a filter jug healthy? 3) I was told that boiled and then cooled water is good for sundews. Can anyone confirm this? 5) Should we hand feed them at some point? as the domes are closed at the seedling stage to maintain humidity, preventing insects from entering. 6._Should we open the dome every few days to get some fresh air? 7)I would like to, I thought. catching rainwater. ? 9) I wish, I thought. catching snow water? sorry if my english is not good 🙁

Your English is fine no need to apologise. 1. As far as I know filter jugs don't clean the water enough 2. Distilled or reverse osmosis water is best 3. Boiling the water won't help 5. If they are inside and no bugs around you can hand feed a tiny bit, maybe lightly spray with very diluted fertiliser 6. Opening the dome every few days is definitely a good idea 7. Collecting rainwater is a great idea 9. Melted snow is also a great way to water them with good clean water.
