Two strokes don't consume more fuel its only that some is unburned and that they have every ignition stroke as on 4 strokes is half

The pistons are not in the same cylinder, they are in a pair of cylinders but share the same head space.

Would you use such an engine in a tractor? This is exactly what Heinrich Lanz did in 1951 for their new tool carrier tractor called Alldog. They used a modified Triumph (TWN) motorcycle engine, and the exact reasons for this choice are not known. And it was the worst choice they could have made. These engines do not have the low rev / high torque requirement for a tractor. Most engines failed in the hard farm work, and modifications into a half Diesel and then a full Diesel did not much improve it. It was the main reason of collapse for Lanz. The last Alldog with a proper MWM Diesel was really good, but the reputation was ruined. Fendt, however, has proved over about 50 years that the tool carrier was basically a good and valid concpt.

2 strokes engines are unreliable, and break more easily than 4 stroke engines. That's why they aren't found in vehicles other than dirt bikes and snowmobiles, toys. I've worked in both and 2 strokes are usually ruined after about 13k miles, 4 strokes can last 500k miles before rebuilding.

I dont see the point... Split single 2x125 VS 1 single 250 for example ???? They really wanted to test the limits of unpracticallity and unreliability 🤦
