No matter what your skill level or your budget, this is the best video you can watch BEFORE you acquire a new paddle! Thank you Luka. Love my new HP J2K😉

Great advice for the pickleball community, especially your point that there's no one best paddle for everyone, and at each stage of one's pickleball journey one's needs will likely change.

I think a list of "good paddles for tennis players" would be super helpful. Especially when talking about the handle because some of these paddles have pure junk. The idea of "control" in pickleball feels more like "touch" for tennis and that tripped me up.

I started playing 5 month’s ago and have played with paddles ranging from $130-$270 but the Honolulu J2K is the one I keep going back to over and over again. Great paddle for beginners because you won’t outgrow the paddle, it’s awesome!!!

Great foundation on how to go about picking a paddle! Just adding to Step 5, some other misc factors to consider is how the paddle looks and if you like the presentation of specific companies. Bread & Butter captures both of these properties well with their fun designs, performance paddles, and witty approach to marketing. Keep up the great work on these videos!

After watching lots of videos I decided to purchase the Vatic pro prism flash. I know it almost a year old but have come to like the control it has on soft dinks. I find the surface is loosing grit in center of racquet after 4 months of use. Is this normal. Thanks for all your videos. Wondering if might be of interest to viewers if you could do a video on racquets after 4 months of use and if there is significant wear on them and a comparison of different models and how they are affected by daily use. thanks

Awesome video!! I came over from playing billiards so paddles aren’t as expensive. I bought a few just to see what I like best. I’m an elongated power paddle kinda guy!

coming from a Friday paddle pre T700’s I appreciate all the hard work you’ve put into this video but for christ sake, I have no idea what these brands are. Is there a curated list in your website I can reference? I picked up a Vatic Pro V7 but find myself going back to the Friday, she’s a bit poppy but just has enough control for drop resets as long as I move my feet quick enough to position. Was gonna pick up the Ripple but now im completely lost after your guy in this video said he’s leaning more towards the Volair CTRL 1 Forza because I’m also running into the same problems he is with the balls landing just outside of the line unless I full swing, half swings pop the ball off the paddle too much unfortunately. I know this is a bit TLDR territory but if anyone read this, id appreciate some feedback. Thanks 🙏

I like the luxx control air invikta it feels natural for me coming from a tennis background. I wish the spray on grit lasts a little longer though. So I guess once the grit surface is completely smooth you lose the spin capability of the luxx?

I have both shapes of the ripple and I know everybody says it's the best paddle but I feel like my drives and serves are way worse because I hit it out way more often with the extra power. I went back to my r3 Nova I was using before the ripple and feel way more comfortable hitting the ball hard. Also going to try the CRBN power 1x, Shapshifter, Selkirk pro vanguard invikta, apes pulse S, and ProXR paddles. Also willing to give the project 007 a shot but it's sold out everywhere. Thanks for the tips!

In our country we dont have the privilege to test out paddles. So what can u suggest i could purchase next. I use 2 handa for my backhand that’s why am leaning towards shogun or the j7k but is there a better choice? I dont which i want more though. Power or control. Tia

I've been waiting for the Ronbus Ripple to show up on R&R for a while because I think it would allow me to leverage my tennis background. Having watch this video, I'm now leaning towards Neon/Monarch control racquets. Good video.

What paddles would be best if you have tendinitis in the elbow and shoulder?
@zuh19022 ай бұрын
Man so sorry to hear that. But I dont think there's a paddle that would solve that issue since all of them transfer some amount of shocks back to you.... You could play indoors with the indoor balls since they're much softer

Fairly new to pickleball. Have vatic prism flash really like it. Bought the j2ti and honestly kinda struggling with it compared to my vp. My question for anyone who knows is this. Are paddles like golf clubs. Like pro can use a blade type iron club but beginner is better with big cavity back club. Is it possible I’m just not good enough yet for the Honolulu j2ti? If I was to buy a 250.00 paddle would I even be that much more worse? Thanks
@WhitePillMan2 ай бұрын
Yes, it’s too soon. Prism is a gen 1.5 paddle so using a J2Ti or any thermoformed paddle will be more poppy. The Honolulu paddles are very easy to control for advanced players so you will likely struggle with any Gen 2 or up paddle. Just get better with the prism. You should be able to beat most people at your level with them. Once you start moving up in level is when you’re ready to upgrade your paddle.

HELP! Expensive process fur sure.😆 Can anyone recommend a 8.5oz or heavier elongated paddle for singles for maximum spin? Im looking at Proton Series 1 model A 15mm and the Body Helix X3 Pro. Currently using Franklin DS Tour 16mm which is 8.6 oz and i weighted the handle to make it 9.4oz. Too poppy and cant get the topspin to bring my shots down. Im a tennis player trying to play pickleball like tennis. Does Honolulu make anything spinnier and heavier than these two?Thanks!

Spin comes from techique I'm afraid. No paddle will instantly give you more spin if you dont change your strokes. Try using a tennis topspin forehand
