That was a great overview of KeyForge and glad you included mechanics from the latest sets! Would love to see more KeyForge content. For anyone starting out, I'd recommend seeing if there is a local KeyForge community in your area as I'm sure people have extra decks or tokens they can give out!

Wonderful video - KeyForge is a game that many more people should play, because it's really worth it.

YOOO!!! This is fantastic! Super well done, and like you said, we were due for an updated one. Thanks for the shoutout too! You and I should talk about audio sometime, I feel like I bang my head against a wall getting mine to sound half as good as yours 😆

Thanks for the kind words man 😄 I'm using a Blue Yeti mic though and it's not the greatest. I have to add a lot of compression and EQing in Sony Vegas to get it to sound halfway decent. I plan on picking up a decent Audio Technica or Shure very soon!!

I don’t imagine you’ll see this comment, but I saw an entire box of keyforge for 20 bucks. Would it be worth buying that set? It is age of ascension if that matters. Never played, but do want to try it.
@UglyStru9 ай бұрын
Yes!! It's definitely worth it. You may not get much resale value out of it (if that's what you're looking for), but the time you'll spend playing is definitely worth the $20!
@ASaturnalia9 ай бұрын
@@UglyStru nah I open magic for resale sometimes. I’m just looking for a new type of tcg to play and it’s from Garfield so it’s gotta be pretty good. I watched you play it kinda reminds me of a board game my kid and I play called Dungeon mayhem from WOTC where you play multiple cards and on the left it does different things like draw a card or discard a card or what have you, mixed with something like ascension/dominion for the engines. I’m gonna look into it and get that box and get my friend to join me
@ASaturnalia9 ай бұрын
@@UglyStru ended up getting the box. 22 bucks on eBay for the box of 12 decks. Told my friend we will do a blind draft for 6 each and open them and try it out. Look forward to trying it out, thank you

@@ASaturnalia How'd it go? Would you recommend?

i really like keyforge. i hated seeing it become another -admittedly unexpected- victim of covid (though, if any card game had to die to a disease that typically kills people, kinda flavorful that it was our whackey everything goes fantasy game) and I'm incredibly happy to see it getting a revive now maybe now I'll actually be able to afford a 7 sins deck 🙂

Agreed! I hope our local communities will grow to support this game more as time goes on

Can I buy all the sets?, or the older one are discontinued? Also, not complaining, but seems impossible to keep updating a game and keeping alive older sets Also, also, again not complaining 😂, but seems really likely that a some point some deck is going to be OP
@UglyStru8 ай бұрын
There are definitely some OP decks in the competitive scene, but the fact that the decks are randomly generated make it damn near impossible (if not completely impossible) for the same exact deck to be generated twice. As for the sets, it's pretty easy to find Age of Ascension decks (the second set) since that set was severely overprinted and there are mass amounts of them everywhere. But it's also the weakest set of the lot. Winds of Exchange (the second most recent set) was just recently announced to be out of print but it still pretty widely available. The beautiful thing about this game is that a lot of cards get reprinted in later sets. But remember, there is no deck-building in this game so finding cards from older sets doesn't really matter. Even if you're playing a constructed format like Alliance, all of the pods need to be from the same set.

They still haven't made it digital, this is the worst fail in gaming history, I was so hyped for getting my custom decks and being able to play with them online. I cannot believe they have missed this opportunity, it blows my mind...
@UglyStru9 ай бұрын
There's TCO (The Crucible Online) but the interface kinda sucks and it lacks any visual appeal (animations, HQ graphics, etc.). I really wish there was a fully supported digital version from GG too, but they said it's not a priority right now. It would really help market the game and the product yet they also struggle to put the game on shelves in retailers. They definitely need to fix a lot of the issues with retailing and marketing first.
