I'll be arriving in Tokyo on April 1 and stay for a week in Japan. Still haven't decided where to go during my trip in Japan yet. My first trip to Japan. Thank you so much for the information. Great video!

I was in Japan last year for 18 nights from thanksgiving day. I get to experience both autumn foliage and snow. I highly recommend the onsens in Tohoku area like Fukushima. Also one area in Kyoto that is underrated is UJI. This place has beautiful landscapes and all kind of tea deserts. i highly recommend to stop by this place if you're near kyoto.

Heading for Japan (Tokyo/Kyoto) in three months. Just completed both of your Japan videos. They are really helpful, especially the advice on the app to get through customs and the many tips like the long walks to get to the attractions, bringing masks, learning some simple phrases, and being respectful. Did you mention the other two places in Kyoto that you visited on the bus tour? I might have missed it. This was good advice. Thank you, thumbs up!

Thank you for such an adventure and a very interesting experience. Usually, you don't come over to videos like this. That gives you such a new perspective on how to live your own life. As someone who gets stuck too much in life, this helps to bring a new vision and take different steps to a better path. Thank you and wish you all the best :)

We are leaving for Japan (Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka) in a month! So excited! 😍 I've already learned 40 words and phrases that I hope will be helpful. 😊But I am going to be making myself a good coin purse because I hadn't considered that I will probably have a lot of change to carry around. Thanks for that great tip! It was a very helpful video. 😁

I don't think you need to exchange money ahead of time. I think you can exchange at Japanese airports for a better rate compared to the US or use your debit to withdraw money from any ATM at the airport (for a fee). There should be 7-11 atms at Japanese airports.
@basalith
@basalith Жыл бұрын
7-11 ATMs were the best in my experience because they had an option to take out ten 1000yen bills, instead of having to take out a large 10,000yen bill.

im going to japan soon and im not sure if i should be getting the JR Rail Pass. Im heading to Tokyo, then Nagoya > Kyoto > Osaka with a day trip to Nara somewhere in between. I’ve read that the JR Pass is worth the money for round trips, but since I won’t be making any, would buying tickets at the station be a cheaper way to travel?

I will also go in April for a tour! When I came from Europe in New York, I had to take some Aspirin for the jet leg. There were 6 hours less in NY… Now, I’ll have 7 in advance…so, again Aspirin! This is the best also if you are going to walk a lot, or for the headache. If you are allergic or you cannot take it, then just ask your Doctor for a substitute pill. Have a good time and nice trip you also! 💫

2 questions: Did you get a suica card or JR pass? If we are planning to visit Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and the main attractions, I hear we're better off getting the JR pass over the Suica? Second, are there any onsens for couples? My girlfriend and I want to try the onsen but I assume there's split by gender? Are there any private ones?
@SnowFoxPaperie
@SnowFoxPaperie Жыл бұрын
Not the OP but you will need both. She had an Icoca card which is a passmo/Suica they are just from different regions. JR pass will only cover JR lines. A Suica will cover the lines from other companies.
@miizzuu
@miizzuu Жыл бұрын
You can get a JR Pass which covers the entire country for the dates that you will be taking the shinkansen (e.g. Tokyo to Osaka) but otherwise an IC card would suffice. You can get a private onsen if certain ryokans provide them, just be aware that it could be a little costly 🙂

In my opinion, even if you have already paid for your flights, not really. Especially if you want to stay in a hotel or travel around the country. If you're planning on staying near for example Tokyo, it might be enough. Capsule hotels are usually nice also and cheaper than a hotels.
@sunny_kimz
@sunny_kimz Жыл бұрын
I found hotels in Japan are pretty cheap compared to the US but you might need a little more than $1000 to be comfortable in your trip! It really depends on what you want to do while you are there and doing some research beforehand to see if everything can fit within your budget. You can check out my other video to see how much I spent in my Japan trip, maybe that will give you a good idea? 😅

@@sunny_kimz 17:18 NO. 50K Yen ( Round trip ) is just about right. Narita Airport is almost 50 miles from downtown Tokyo and a taxi ride is very expensive. 5k Yen in a taxi won't take you far. Nobody but VIPs with a lot of cash and little common sense would take a taxi from Narita to Tokyo! There are so many other transports available for so much less money. Try taking a train or bus instead. Narita Express train is about 2.5k yen. A local commuter train is only about 1.8k yen.

I have gone on vacation trips to Japan more than 20x in the last 9 years. All of them pre-pandemic. You didn't even need to have a smartphone to enter the country. Just fill out an entry and customs declaration card while flying . That's all. These QR codes and online forms are totally alien to me.
