@@wadethetrucker do we use fuel pressure regulators or fuel management unit with this build? I have been doing research and found that we can tune that way but I don’t remember you saying anything about it. This will be my first turbo ever on my p71 Vic. I am stumped because 2003 and up panthers come with the fuel pressure regulator as a sensor, not a mechanical one. If you are using one, how would you go about installing one in the Vic? I feel like it’s important if we are both planning on using stock ecu/ injectors ect . We need some type of tune ability! Let me know how you are going about it.
@wadethetrucker2 ай бұрын
I don’t know how much PSI you plan on running, but when I spoke with Marty, he said that the stock fuel system, except the injectors, should be plenty enough to run low boost, as in my case.

Love the content my dude, I’m a big fan of these cars. A joy to drive

Great video, and congrats on the sponsorship. When I started getting into modifying cars, I tried to understand how to do so by reading forum posts (that often had no pictures) and piecing together how they applied to the cars that I had. Having an explanatory video like this to get me started would have saved a ton of time. Great job going into the details on what everything does and why. I hope that new enthusiasts find your videos and use them for the knowledge and inspiration to start their own projects.

I've been trying to find a tutorial on how to install a turbo on this car, do you think you could make a tutorial? 🙏🔥

I’m certainly planning on it! I bought a Mercury grand marquis to put this turbo on. You can see it in my most recent video.

Death Toll Racing has an excellent budget twin turbo build, but it was a bit more aggressive. He blew at least one engine and transmission. He did it cheap, but he has his own shop and excellent fabrication skills.

You can tell he’s reading a script where he put everything down in the hopes of making sure we understood everything. Good shit. Ideal girlfriend joke caught me off guard.

Will putting aftermarket headers on the vic give it any more horsepower????
@wadethetruckerАй бұрын
In general, putting headers on will help with horsepower. Unfortunately the only set of headers made specifically for these cars are from stainless works and cost a LOT of money. The only other option is to chop up some mustang headers or to make your own.

Is that turbo the right size for low boost application on the crown vic 4.6?
@BlackTownie999Ай бұрын
I subscribed to watch the install, I have an idea for a twin turbo setup using cheap T3 turbos meant as a stock upgrade to the turbo coupe...after all a 4.6 is two 2.3's ;)

what leds do you recommend? i have the same dark headlights and have bad halogens, needing an upgrade for my vic
@wadethetruckerАй бұрын
I can’t really be unbiased because I have had a sponsored by Oxilam. However, most cheap LED headlights are all the same. Just try not to go too cheap, I’ve had 2 or 3 sets of sub $35 LED headlights, some gave out after a year, some had the high beam and low beam swapped. I swapped of the lights to LED’s in my black car using oxilam lights, minus the ones that they don’t carry. The headlights work well enough, and don’t have a giant heatsink/fan hanging off the back. If you go on their website directly and use the code WTT at checkout, you’ll get a 10% discount. I’m also supposed to get a small kickback, but when I ordered $130 worth of LED’s, I got nothing 💀💀💀. Also, if you plan on changing out your headlight housings for new ones, unscrew the alignment posts from the factory housings and put them on the new housings so you don’t need to re-align the new housings.

How much would it hypothetically cost to do this on my 2001 grand marquis ??
@wadethetrucker2 ай бұрын
I estimate the cost of materials to be around $1,500, which is 5 times less than a supercharger kit. The biggest thing that is going to affect the cost is the cost of the charge pipe. It’s going to cost me more since I’ll be remote mounting, but I’ll also be doing all of the welding on my own.

This channel is going to takeoff. Offset the camera a little to avoid the shadow on you. And pin down all the plastic ahead of time. Great video, but some people distract easily, so just for consideration. Other than that everything is great.
