Just an FYI, I think the Galaxy S Vibrant you have featured in this video is actually the Galaxy S Vibrant 4G which was a 2nd edition of the Vibrant released in 2011. Hey EAP fantastic video! I just wanted to give you a small bit of info you might find interesting; Samsung doesn't avoid using stock Android due to any licensing fees. Phone manufacturers are free to join the Android consortium knows as the Open Handset Alliance, and Android is completely free for manufacturers to use. Using Stock Android would actually probably be easier for Samsung to use. The reason Samsung continues to develop and use TouchWiz is 1. Because they have spent a lot of time building the "Galaxy" brand and the way Touchwiz looks and feels, even if it feels bad to enthusiasts, has become relatively iconic, specially in Asian markets, where the design is generally well liked. 2. Because Samsung feels somewhat threatened by the direction Google has turned towards. For one thing, Google actually doesn't like the open source nature of Android any more, now that it has gained giant adoption. They are legally obligated to keep it open source (I believe it was part of the deal when they first purchased Android as a company and product). AOSP's functionality has slowly begun to fall to the wayside, and Google has focused more on Google Mobile Services. This moves more and more control into their own hands, to where they will be closer to actually controlling Android than just maintaining it. That's why Samsung maintains TouchWiz, with its own version of the Google app suite (the much reviled duplicate app "bloat"). For another, Google has started to foray more seriously into premium mobile hardware, which is many consider to be a somewhat hostile and ill advised move, as it is now starting to compete with its own hardware partners. Whether these fears are justified, Samsung does have some reasons for sticking to TouchWiz.

Sahil Rao Because the s8 is a lot more sexier and slimer phone with higher resolution. Also the s8 has a better processor then the S7 so the software is alot better. BTW I would go for the s8 plus and not the note because the s8 plus has a bigger battery.

That's why you can download custom launchers.. That's what android stands for, it's ability to be customized. Samsung Is a good manufacturer and has a great gui to me. But if I get bored if it I download nova launcher and it's much more customizable
