FINALLY got this to work on an iPhone 5S. the video says 2-5 minutes of swiping but this phone took 15 minutes the first time and 50 minutes the second time. My fingers and hands are tired! The key for me is once you do all the steps and it starts to glitch, keep swiping, sometimes it will stop at the language menu and you have to pick a different language but as soon as you pick one keep swiping and the phone will continue to glitch. Takes a lot of patience but I finally was able to get to the FaceTime and get an email address. I have emailed and tried FaceTiming the original owner but haven't heard back yet but hopefully soon. Other than FaceTime and the Phone app you really can't get into anything else. Also if you are trying to get back to the menu screen where you can use the apps and get to the crash app you need to go back into the wifi setting and turn the HTTP Prozy back to off and then hit back and then next.

so what you have to do, is do what he says before 1:41, then click "forget network", then the network will still be there but with no numbers, so in DNS spot, you enter the numbers that he posts, then go back, click on the wifi network, and then it will go into "activating screen" with the circle, click back real quick before it gets to the apple id/password screen, and it should connect you to that dns server. then you'll be on screen 1:42, although, it's changed over the years. BTW, this won't unlock the phone/ipad, it'll just let you use it, like youtube or whatever. It won't unlock it

For all those who are stuck in the bootloop like me, do the following: Hold down the home + power buttons to power the phone down Hold down the home button for 3 seconds unitl the apple logo is displayed then hold down the home button with it. Keep both held down until the phone seems to restart. Once the apple logo comes up again, let go of the power button and keep the home button held down until you see a 'connect to itunes' message. Then just do a restore through itunes and don't try this bs again.

When you're in the menu where you can access some of the stuff, I clearly saw the settings icon there. Why not just go into settings to check iCloud, iTunes & App Store, Messages or FaceTime to see the Apple ID (not necessarily email) of the user as well as settings>phone>number to see the old number?
