I spend money when I want the best and spend less when good enough will do. I am installing 24 poles for my solar power system ground mount. My 23 hp JD 1023E handles the TSC digger with a 12 in auger just fine in my Florida sand. Not something you can borrow or rent so when I am done I will clean it up and store it. I will be building a shed and I have three acres that I might build a fence around.

Could you build a boom lift pole to fit a 3 point hitch with a pulley at the end and a winch mounted at the base? That would make this a mini crane, able to lift a 1000 pound or so log on a flat bed. Of course, counter weights at the front of the tractor would need to be used to avoid tip over. Maybe for heavy applications a set of extension arms boing back from the rear of the tractor like it is done with a back hoe attachment. The pto could power the winch, of course, or it could be powered by an electric motor that is geared down to handle the torque required.

It definitely would not be a great idea to attempt it. Most probably would not go over a 12" diameter auger unless the soil conditions are extremely easy.

Bent the head on my 11" earth auger bit. Can I straighten it and how if so?? Thanks in advance.
@EverythingAttachments
@EverythingAttachments 9 жыл бұрын
Fish Man This probably can be straightened in a press, but that would weaken the material and would very likely bend again. If it isn't completely straight it will wobble and could cause a seal or bearing failure, or even break a shaft. We would strongly suggest a new bit. Hello Ted, I am looking to buy a post-hole digger for a Massey Ferguson 185 farm tractor, rated for 75Hp, that dates back to the 1980s. I have my mind set on the Danuser Model J20/80 pole digger, bolted to a 24-inch diameter tree-planting auger. In your opinion, is this combination going to be adequate for planting a couple of thousand trees in soil that is not very difficult to break through and drill ? Thanks for any help you can offer.
@EverythingAttachments
@EverythingAttachments 9 жыл бұрын
The J20-80 is a good unit. If you want to save some money, the Everything Attachments 7500HD PHD would work great on your tractor at a fraction of the cost. Either should work good for your application.
@riverbankfisher1079
@riverbankfisher1079 9 жыл бұрын
EverythingAttachment I sure appreciate the quick response to my questions here, Ted. I'll now think it over and decide shortly whether to go with the Danuser J20/80, or select the less costly option of the 7500 that you guys make in-house. I'll be using the post-hole digger primarily for tree planting in sandy, river-side soil, and back-filling with a mix of fermented cow manure and richer dark soil, to get better results than I saw in my past tree-planting efforts. Thanks again, and I'll be in touch soon. Regards from Tony

Will the 6900HD work with that CT122 for 18" holes?
@EverythingAttachments
@EverythingAttachments 8 жыл бұрын
The CT122 in the video has our EA Compact Tractor PHD installed on it. The hoop is narrower and taller than the 6900/6900HD, so it ensures enough lift height for smaller tractors. You can order the compact phd with the larger gearbox and an 18” auger(call for details), but the results will depend more on the ground condition than the tractor HP. 18” is pretty large if you have hard, rocky, difficult soil. www.everythingattachments.com/Compact-Tractor-Post-Hole-Digger-p/eta-compact-phd.htm

My Clay is harder than yours an you bits get stuck in it instantly. Your tip is too aggressive for hard compact clay here in the wild west. I wish you sold a tip that was less aggressive. I wish you sold a tip that worked better in clay.
@EverythingAttachments
@EverythingAttachments 2 жыл бұрын
It's hard(no pun) to have one that works for everyone, but the augers we offer have been doing well in a wide variety of conditions for many years. If it is too aggressive, you could try knocking off part of the cast, corkscrew tip, but if it is digging too fast, the major key is to take it as slow as possible. Pull up the auger frequently, so it will shed the dirt instead of forcing itself deeper. I hope this helps. Thanks
