Boy, this was painful. Paul is a complete narcissist. It’s all about him! It’s sad to see a grown man so insecure and yearning for approval/validation in his life. These “interviews” would certainly benefit from Mo taking the reins in being the one to pose questions-at least then we’d hear from the guests and it wouldn’t be a segment that’s 80% Paul desperately trying to pump up his ego.

"Paul is a complete narcissist. It’s all about him! It’s sad to see a grown man so insecure and yearning for approval/validation in his life." I agree with you completely, but from my experience, these are the types of people that usually succeed in life. Insecurity is one heck of a motivation for a lot of people. Most people would be content with $5 million, but to people like Paul, it doesn't even register and they probably consider $5 million "not enough."

Loved the "interview", although it was more of a conversation among the three of you which was great!...I've seen other Guy Spier's Interviews and I have loved them all but I got to see another side of Guy in this one, kind of more personal and laid back which was also interesting. He is a very good conversationalist who knows how to listen to the people he is speaking with. I understand Paul's passionate and quick of mind way of being but sometimes he's got to rein in a little bit and let the other speaker finish his idea/sentence like for instance at 1:53:18...It's just a suggestion and no harm done really and again I understand Paul because I tend to do the same sometimes and trying to improve that on myself...I enjoyed the whole 3 plus hours of interesting chat...Thank you guys for sharing! 😉

These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I have about $89k now to put in the market.

Understanding personal finances and investing will most likely lead to greater financial independence. By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money. I know someone who made over $350k in this recession influenced market, but to the best of my knowledge, it was through a financial advisor.
@maga_zineng7810
@maga_zineng7810 4 ай бұрын
Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $21k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

I've properly heard all guy Spier's interviews, and many of them are kind of similar. But you really got a god conversation going in the end, thank you for that:) Guy Spier is a hero of mine and I was kind of embarrassed by how much he got interrupted by Paul who came across like a huge asshole. But you managed to turn it around and I feel like I really got something unique and genuine from this. I never thought I would ever praise this channel, but you did very well with this. thank you so much!

I was super busy with work when this video came out so I added to my watch later list and I'm so happy I finally was able to carve out the 3+ hours to watch it. I've been a big fan of Guy's for so long (made my day to meet him at the Berkshire meeting last year and have him sign my book). I have consumed so many of his interviews so it was a fun change of pace to get away from investing and get to know you him more on a personal level. Guy, please come back for more. Paul, I signed up for your software at the $8 level and was around for the early part of your break from Lisa so I have been personally invested in watching you guys get back together and watching the evolution of your relationship and your outlook in general change over the years. Though all your crass talk way back when, I could tell you still loved her so I'm really happy for you guys. ❤

Paul, most of your subscribers are here because we enjoy your content. But when you have a guest please make the show all about them. When your guest is telling a sad story about a friend who became a quadriplegic (1:53:00) that's not a time to jump in about your fiancé sisters death. This isn't a competition on tradegy it's about letting your guest complete a story and thought. Guy wasn't finished with his thoughts. Your 57 year old self will understand and wish you could tell your current 42 year old self to listen more.

I agree, before the pandemic got real serious, I used to handle all my investment and I was pretty good at it, fast forward to post-pandemic and my-portfolio is steady in the red with profit rate down to the lowest, that's when I touched-base with a coach I saw featured on business week, who restructured my portfolio and over the last couple years, I've made over $650k from initially $210k.

Lots of advice. Stay in the market even when you make ‘mistakes’, don’t focus only on making money but enjoy your life, find a process that works for you and don’t panic when the market is down and don’t FOMO when the market is flying high. The most important lesson in my opinion is that you don’t have to be special to be successful in the market; anyone can do it.

Came here for Guy Spier as a value investor, but unfortunately this discussion quickly became about all of the wrong values: justifying expensive watches, Ferraris, private aeroplane travel, and Birkin bags. I'm sorry but the only reason that someone wants a $25,000 handbag (which costs 30x less than that to manufacture by the way) is to signal their status as being more successful or 'elite' than others -- if you can't admit that, then you're lying to yourself. Luxury brand marketing is based on appealing to the ego (i.e. terminology like 'exclusivity', 'legacy', 'dynasty,' etc). All this excess has very little to do with an 'inner scorecard' and is actually rather disappointing. Paul needs to learn to talk less and actually listen to his guests.
