Hi my friend. There is always a first for everything. This is a first for me. It’s is so meaty and hearty. I think you would only need to eat a small portion to feel full. It look so delicious and I know it is. I wish I could have just a little taste. I never had salted beef. Well, I guess I am going to use my imagination. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed watching you prepare this amazing dish. Enjoy your weekend. ~Hugs 🌹

Hello Martha, you are exactly right, it will fill you very quickly if eaten in large amounts; this is a side dish and should be serve in small portions because it is so rich and high in protein. Thanks so much for watching. Hope you have a restful weekend. Xoxo

You the best. I ŕeally would have love to taste it. Take care for now you and family.🙏🏻💕🇬🇧🇧🇧

GM Angel!!! Lol, yes I think you really have to think of the meats, the salt beef and baked turkey with the peas and fresh herbs; it has really evolved over the years. I would truly love to make it again for the holidays, hopefully, I absolutely enjoyed it. Thanks again for stopping by and wishing you a great weekend. Xoxo 😘

I wrote a children's book in 2017 that includes this Bajan dish - "A Piece of Black Cake for Santa." The Bajan child left jug jug for Santa (in stead of cookies). This is a great recipe to share with my readers.

Hi , I' ve always wanted to make jug jug, But cannot find the guinea corn flour anywhere in Winnipeg ,,( Canada) What else can be substituted in place of the guinea corn flour ? Would like an answer. Please and thank you.
@EverythingPaulette2 жыл бұрын
Hi Erla, unfortunately I don't know what would be a good substitute because they stressed that you should only make it with the guinea corn flour. Maybe someone can bring some back for you from Barbados but it has to be the right season to get it. I would suggest to visit a health food store they have so many different flours these days, you might get lucky. Best of luck, that was the very first time I made it and I could not be happier with it, I am hoping to make some more next year, God willing, I love it so much and I didn't even missed the pork, lol.

Hi again Paulette, Jonna wants to know when you're inviting her over for some samplings 😂😊 plane tickets and all 😅 I really don't have any suggestions for her. The problem is, your cooking and range of dishes continue to amaze her. As they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, the balls in your court.

I haven't had guinea corn since I was a child. I used to like it used as bread not as a cereal. You know Paulette, I don't know the last time I heard that saying "being clide" hope I spell it correctly. We used to say it a lot when we were children when we eat too much of something. Those good old days!
