it breaks more like a piece of ceramic, maybe the comedy mask is made of a more brittle substance than the tragedy mask, or maybe both are that brittle but the tragedy mask is connected more securely to the ribbon neck. (Though it does get smacked against the ground and doesn't break, so maybe a combo of both durability and security)
