56:25 or so I like to imagine is the moment at the doctor’s office where you’re officially diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. All the gaps in memory, all the weird misplacement of everyday objects, all the bizarre behavior you’ve been exhibiting lately, it all makes, terrible, awful sense now. You’re horrified, your children are devastated, your grandkids are devastated, you all don’t know what else to do besides accept it and try to find a way to, somehow, deal with this horrific diagnosis.

Of course no guarantees. Most people do avoid this condition. Here’s hoping one day no one has to ever fear going through it. Until then, keep your mind fresh and ever learning. It might be the only thing keeping you from losing your memories once they are at risk of being lost.

It's noteworthy that the lucid part of dementia both starts and ends with the Heartaches melody. I do know that Heartaches is the overarching leitmotif throughout the whole EATEOT, but the way it plays one more time in Mournful Camaraderie, the last "coherent" track, before Stage 4 kicks in feels particularly sad and poignant.

e6 is my favorite because of the trumpets it distorted in the begging but comes back just to be pushed back, it’s like the patient is fighting back and there trying so hard that’s why in later stages it’s like the patient has given up on fighting back, both e6 and back there benjamin are great songs in this whole album, back there benjamin starts with a surprising start it’s like the patient is having a war with their own mind.

HOLLY FUCKING SHIT... my father passed away a month ago, due to heart failure.. in the hospital bed.... in pain I can't imagine how he was feeling every time we left the hospital because the visit time is over, I didn't know that these days were his last days on earth, he was suffering slowly and in silence, and the nurses were shitty they didn't care, they kept using the same treatment when my father told them that it causes him a lot of pain, and in my 23 years on earth I never heard my father moan out the pain but when I first heard him I knew it was an unimaginable pain, and when the visit time was over my l looked at my father and he is holding back his tears so the strong father image doesn't break in front of his kids and he told me I no longer have will of my own my days are gone... I am like a baby I can't eat on my own, someone has to go to the bathroom with me, I am a dead man I am not coming home after this, I will end up in the cemeteries. the next day he died alone in the hospital. what kills me is the fact that throughout his life he was so proud of me until I graduated from high school, I was nothing but a series of disappointments and false promises, and I didn't take his sickness seriously thinking it was one of his usual visits to the hospital for monthly check-ups his with his doctor. and the fact that my dad used to stay in his room alone or in the living room watching tv or calling us to play one of his favourite movies not because he wanted to but to start a conversation, but stupid me... I was thinking that finishing the assignment is more important. all this will haunt me for the rest of my life and I will not be able to reverse what happened. if you reached this far I have a request from you, if have elderly parents... please no matter what do not abandon them whether you live with them or alone, if they are about to tell you a story that you heard a million times listen to it because there are no more stories to tell from what left of their lives. do not think just because you are an adult and independent you don't need your parents, it's actually the other way around. sorry for the grammatical mistakes.

So sorry for your loss. Sending warm hugs your way. 🤗❤🕯💔 Please don't beat yourself up. My grandmother also died when I was 16, and I have been feeling sorry that I didn't go to see her in the hospital before she'd pass away because I was reading for an exam. I talked about it with my therapist, and we came to the conclusion that my Grandmother would forgive me. I'm sure your Dad would want you to be happy, too. It's true one shouldn't take anything for granted but it's also important to remember that we make our choices based on our best understanding in each situation. ❤🤗❤

My rankings for the lucidity stages from worst to best (all stages are their own masterpieces), are Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 Now I know I’ll get some hate for making stage 1 my least favorite, but hear me out. Other than It’s just a burning memory, Childishly fresh eyes, things that are beautiful and transient, and my heart will stop in joy. There aren’t really any other songs I enjoy listening to. Stage 1 is a classic, and the opening song really makes it pop. But I feel like if it wasn’t there stage 1 wouldn’t get so much love. Stage 2 Gives the idea that something is wrong. With about all the songs having a sense of dread and loss. Stage 2 songs are in a way more enjoyable. Stage 2 I feel like doesn’t get much love and attention, but I argue it’s the second best. Which leads me to Stage 3. What a stage. Back there Benjamin hits you like a speeding train after the way ahead feels lonely. This album is a mix of different songs, from songs that were heard earlier, to now songs that are new and crazy to hear. The clear signs that dementia is something the caretaker must deal with. And this is the album where fog really sets in, when drifting time misplaced plays, it’s clear that memories are becoming more fluid. And the last 4 songs are just wonderful. How we hear burning dispare does ache, to then listening to mournful camaraderie is an adventure. It is a peaceful end to the lucidity states, as we enter the horrors of the post awareness stages.

"There's no need to be so distressed over a few nightmares." A fine lady in a plush dress reassures your worries. "What if I.. forget you.. forget.... My husband and future children?" You say, still uneasy. The fine figure before you scoffs. "Just because your old man has it doesn't mean you'll get it. Who knows? Perhaps when you grow as old as I am, they'll make a cure." "After all, why not enjoy the present? You've got the finest chap in town, you're expecting your first child.. what better a time to let your worries go!" You look down at your drink. "But..." you sigh. "There are no buts! Go out and have a good time!" She pulls you up off of the couch. "Oh and by the way, what are you planning on naming it?" she motions to you. "Ah, I don't know." You say, unnerved by her overall joy. The woman smiles "How about.. Barbara... or Dennis." She says through a radiant smile. "Hah, I certainly won't forget such a common name." You say. "I'll think about it." You stop the record just as al begins to say "After all, it's just a burning memory." There's no reason to worry.

Now of course the first song ever in this album is quite common now and the original non slow version would be heartaches by al bowly and it this also is the same for the first song in stage two which is misplaced in time with the original being lullaby of the leaves by George Olson but there is other songs that people didn't really pay attention to for example the second song in stage two which was say it isn't so, by layton & Johnson and also willow weep for me by the same music group where as at that point near stage 4, layland james kirby AKA, the caretaker, used two or three of the songs together to make a bunch of static and noise which is why stage 4 is near the last stage of dementia.

It sounds like music because these are representing the early stages of dementia, where the proposed patient can form and recall memories quite efficiently. Dementia isn't just "I forgor". It's a regressive disease that always starts out moderate and gets worse as time goes on. As you might hear in the 3rd stage, it begins to cross the line of what you could consider music. But it's still lucid. Stage 4 is when it fully crosses the line of ambience rather than music.
