Biddy Mulligans was a regular haunt when I was a student. Live music on a Sunday night. Love the Mussel and Steak Bar, good sea food, and the other half raved about the chips cooked in beef dripping.

O'Oliviero used to be 'Gennaro's' which was a lovely wee Italian restaurant back in the day and a famous spot in Edinburgh. The reason I personally loved Gennaro's is because 16 years ago my wife proposed to me in there. Yes - she proposed to me! And I said "Yes" 😊❤️

Hello from California. Loved this post/video. Stayed in the Grassmarket in 2016, in an airBnB-type accommodation. LOVED The White Hart Inn as it had LIVE music every night. The Last Drop was good for food and fun too. Really, just loved Edinburgh, Glasgow, the highlands (Inverness) and ALL of Scotland (except St. Andrews, found it a snooze)!

Thank you for this and I totally understand you're hesitation to film menu's for to long, thank you for being considerate. While this video is only 21:11 minutes long, it took me an enjoyable hour to pause and read all the menus. I will be in Edinburgh twice this year and I plan on stopping at a least a few of these place because of you. Maybe we can meet for a pint, Cheers.

The Maggie Dickson pub is named after a young woman who was hanged but after taking the body for burial was found to still be alive. She became known as Half Hangit Maggie and lived for about 40 more years! As the court order for her hanging had been carried out, albeit unsuccessfully, they couldn't hang her again!

@AngryTheGnome2 жыл бұрын
Biddy Mulligans owns the smallest pub and the Grassmarket Hotel, so you can get food in the smallest pub. Also it has plenty GF options: Nachos, all the salads, all the burgers have the gluten free bun option (the fried chicken will be replaced by grilled tho), the loaded fries and the skins also are GF, as well as the vegan pie and a couple of the desserts, just ask for the GF options as the menu says.

That was Happy and Handy😁. The Farmers Market ( in season ) adds even more options to the Grassmarket. One of my favorite areas in Edinburgh. Sitting outside having a pint ( or two ) you will meet people from everywhere. Last time I was there I had a conversation with a couple that lives about two miles away in the US. Fun!

5:06 "down my alley". OK, that's how I (Canadian/American) would use that phrase. I've noticed a lot of Brits use "up my street". Is this a difference between Scots and English? Or have you picked this up from the Americans? Inquiring minds want to know...
