Today we're doing a quick review of this beast of a card, the EVGA RTX 2080ti XC Ultra with 11GB of GDDR6 memory. It has been running cool, and fairly quiet (at least I cannot hear it over my 6 case fans, lol) so I am pretty happy with it so far.

Seems like most 2080 ti dual slot/dual fans run at 75-80 degrees c under load, this one is a bit thicker closer to 65-70, and the FTW 3 (3 fans super thick) get you around 60.

Earned a new sub! I've got a 1080ti paired with my 9900k, a big jump from SLId gtx 580s and an i5 2500k that was my previous system lol The 2080ti is beast though, definitely on another level. I've got a 1440p 120hz extrawide monitor so the 1080ti suits my needs for now and the forseeable future. Interested to see if they come out with a 2080ti super.

Svylas 10one9 - Dang, 2500k -> 9900k is a big upgrade! The GPU too 👍 1080ti will still be good for a long time, it has 11gb vram and still beats most of the new nvidia cards. (And I’m pretty sure even beats all the still to be released AMD Navi cards)

Great video. Time to buy a 2080ti for $1k because the 3000 series will be delayed. I was waiting for the the 3000 series to push an ultrawide monitor. My 1080ti is doing okay but I want to stay in the 100+/- fps. Will look upgrade to 3000 series in 2021.

Thank you for an honest opinion! I've been looking to buy one and I just wanted a straight answer from someone. I play at 1440p and want something that can max out all settings. I picked up Shadow of the Tomb Raider and my 1080ti just drops FPS big time during the jungle areas and even some cave puzzles. Guess the card is starting to show its age?

SOTR is a demanding game. Were you running the RTX shadows? That dropped it under 30fps even at 1080p for me on the 1080ti. 2080ti isn't like double the 1080ti, but it's noticeable bump up and it runs games amazingly at 1440p ultra or 4K. Thanks for watching!

Yes, I am still using this one 👍 I’m sure there is some sag, in all my builds with big cards, I usually make a thing to prop them up with a straw and black electrical tape lol. You just game me an idea, I should make a how-to video on those! It’s been a great card for me though, no issues so far.

Tech with Sean when I try to play rust, there are occasional drops under 60 FPS and sometimes go to 32, even though I have this same card and I over clocked the gpu, and I turned the shadow quality to 0.

Need to max out the power limit slider. This will allow the card to keep higher clocks when its being pushed. Right now it's down clocking the GPU when it uses more then 112% power. (Not sure what the watts is for 112%). When slider is set to max then the card can use 338w before it starts to down clock the GPU. This does come at the cost of more heat tho :(

Thanks for posting your rig. I am very close with a 1080ti and 3800x. I was waiting for the 3000 series but I am pretty sure that it will be delayed. I was looking at 2080ti's. This one caught my eyes for pushing my ultrawide at 120hz, or at least a steady 100hz.

I have a 3440x1440p 120hrz monitor. I have a i7 67000 4ghz cpu and a GTX 1080. I'm looking to jump to a 2080ti so I can start playing games at 2k with Ray tracing. My biggest factor is cyberpunk 2077 I want that game to look great and I don't think my 1080 can handle it. Should I jump to a gtx 2080 ti or wait for the 3000 series... Yeah. I would definitely go with the 2080TI. I managed to find one for one hell of a deal on eBay it still had a two year warranty and was barley used, it’s still an amazing card. Considering the fact of how hard the new 3000 series is to get STILL, it’s definitely still worth it. At my local Best Buy, there was a agent their that said they won’t be expecting stable shipments of the 3000’s until MID 2021.

I see that it shows 70© but for my 2080ti xc NOT ultra my temps gets up 84© when playing at 4k and I took the card back today. Is the temps I got normal ( though with common sense it doesn't seem normal obviously) for playing at 4k ? Because that's way too hot for my taste

Legendsfaith3 - it’s hard to say for sure since this has a larger heat sink but that does seem hot. Were you overclocking it at all or did you adjust the fan curve? If your PC doesn’t exhaust air very well that could contribute too. Sounds like maybe it had bad thermal paste from the factory or something though

My case has good air flow but than again the case is a mid tower , I may actually upgrade to a full tower with more fans. But I never had the heat problem before when I had the RTX 2070 xc ultra and RTX 2080 FTW 3 just only when I got the 2080ti xc But as I'm typing this my wife is at Best buy getting the 2080ti xc Ultra as we speak Also It only got hot playing crysis 3 and anthem, but not rocket league hmm I'll update you bro

@@seblahideh wow I forgot I even made a comment on this video a year ago ! I found out that getting the 2080 TI ultra was the better choice for the heat problems I get 60-70 © when playing (as of right now due to using a bigger better case) also I found out that NZXT has a very bad design for airflow with their cases. Just look at my profile pic you'll see the case that I'm using I've been using this case for years and never knew that the two front fans were useless based on how this case was designed and for years my card has been reaching 80° Celsius because of this reason. Just this weekend I've upgraded my case to a Corsair 4000x RBG and I love it waaaaaaay better than NZXT

@@lndintw word, I was thinking that exact case as well. I have phanteks eclipse P400 case and the entire front panel is solid save for a slot on the bottom and top that allow air to the two front fans. IDK what I was thinking.

Depends on your case and airflow. I think the FTW is longer (3 fan) and this one is shorter (2 fan) but I think this heat sink is thiccer. It’s a 2.75/3 slot card.

very important question.does EVGA RTX 2080 Ti XC Ultra gddr6 uses micron or samsung memory? right now i'm running a evga gtx 980 ti.just purchased EVGA RTX 2080 Ti XC Ultra.reason i ask is i heard on reviews that lots of consumers video card died due to micron gddr6 issues and nvidia went back to samsung gddr6 memory.if you have TechPowerUp GPU-Z it will tell you if your gddr uses micron or samsung.hope this help.thx.

NVM.I never hear your reply back so allow me to explain to others.i got the evga geforce rtx 2080 xc Ultra card.looked up techpowerup gpuz specs and saw gddr6 is samsung.no longer micron which its the source of card deaths.so far i have no issues with rtx card.got my game at high settings and still at 50 degrees Celsius. Video card fans only comes on around 50 degrees Celsius and up.off at below 50 degrees Celsius. Now i ran test on can you run it site and the result is really great.i now got a Ultimate PC! Wont be upgrading for a very long time.100% on all pc games.

One last thing everyone.this card takes 3 back slots and only use this card on mid and full pc cases with 2 fans in front and 1 in back to keep system cool from overheating. Make sure you got at least 850 or 1k watt power supply in hand.gonna need it.that is it.good luck all on pc build.

I haven’t tried that one, but I know this XC Ultra cats as well as the FTW3 have larger coolers. If the XC is too hot you could always just lower the clock a little bit.

pubbzie - if you game at 4K or plan to, definitely. It can basically do everything at 4K 60+. Also can be worth it at 1440p, I’ve seen more frames in basically everything, but not as big as a jump from 9 -> 10 series. My 7700k was bottlenecking it in some stuff like AC and Tomb Raider, I plan to get a newer chip soon to get full utilization out of it. Thanks for watching! ✌️

pubbzie - this would be a good card to get then. The 2080ti is noticeably better at 4K. If you want to ‘set it and forget it’ something like this may work better than a more complicated or water cooled one. The heat sink is so big it keeps it pretty cool, so it maintains good boost speeds

Raffa - maybe for you it’s not but it is a significantly faster card. The 1080ti is unable to keep 144fps at high settings in many games, and this card can. I also think the difference would be larger if I had a faster CPU.

Imersiion while they can handle 4K at around 60-70 fps on average I would say that no card is FOR 4K gaming quite yet but this one handles it the best so far. The sweet spot still remains at 1440p
