Evgeniya KANAEVA (RUS), 2012 European Championships (Ribbon)

UEG Official -- European Rhythmic Championships, Individual All-Around Final. Evgeniya signed her 3rd European All-Around title (118.150). In Nizhny, she finished her competition with a top performance with the Ribbon : 29.550 (Difficulty : 9.950; Artistic : 9.850 ; Execution : 9.750).

Was the stage designed on the basis of her costume(the rainbow arch and kids&cry), or it's just a coincidence, they were in harmony with each other?

Amazing performance but i didnt like the movement of the ribbon

There was a problem or a characteristic with Kanaeva's ribbon draw...the spirals are more loose than others gymnast that makes them look sometimes more like waves than spirals. But she always makes 5 (minimun to be counted) and I think that makes her ribbon not stay inmobile ever in the routine it always is moving. Also her transitions, catches are amazingly performed. A lot of gymnast in the field will get caught in the ribbon or make a notch, but no Kanaeva. As you says it depends if you like or not but her handling is remarkeable an irrepetible
