I find something mysterious in Asif Ali's character too, like he married Aparna only after someyears of his wife's death (who he loves very much as per the story) , also he doesn't know where his own son was burried . In that situation within 2 years he remarried, and i find fakeness somewhere in the story that he told to Aparna.

I think chachu was buried near the anvil tree( the boundary of his current house estate). He sold part of his estate 1 year after the boys death. There doesn’t seem any financial reason for a relatively well off family to sell part of the land where they reside. Why body buried at the boundary. Even if investigation undertaken , digging doesn’t happen near the border as it affects neighbouring land and need lot more conviction in the court to do that. Also when Asokan asks appupilllai ( is a survey needed to check the perimeters of your land) , apply pillai gets irked and walks away. And there is that reason where the anvil tree as his current estate boundary being mentioned in the movie.

i believe that its the place where he goes and burns the notes.. like you said its a muscle memory and also, the loop comes to a full circle, in a sense, there. Especially since that loop is centered around chachu, it makes more sense for his burial place to occupy a major part of the loop. Nice points. Enikk doubt Asf Aliye thanneyaanu. The story of 2 bullets is shown thru narration of two persons only, its never shown as events happening. What if Asi Ali is lying to Aparna to save himself? As it's an accidental death, he could have revealed to father and ended his pain. But he is not doing it. It's also possible, what Vijayaraghavan found is totally different from what shown to us. What if, it's a min game played to us. What if Vijayaraghavan knows the truth and never tells Asif Ali. Also, his wife could have used the gun to shoot herself. Instead she searches and exactly finds the depression medicine to kill herself. In such a brilliant script, it looks illogical

exactly what i was thinking, one was asif's narration and the part where asif and his father is having a convo is shown as reality based memory.. in that asif's father's final words while he's burning the notes is" enikye ninne kuttakaaranaayi kananam ennilla.." but in the story asif told, he isnt the one responsible . in fact he was nowhere near the scene when his child died, but in that scene, he doesnt say anything and goes and hugs his father with tears. will asif as a father be able to do that, hearing his own father accusing him for what happened to his child,,.? like the emotions displayed by him are very off in that scene.where he hugs his father.. it only makes sense if he's the one who did it..

One possible mistake: you ask: how can appu pillai know that chachu was killed by bullet wound. He cannot know, but he does find out that there are two bullets missing from his gun. He knows from Sumadattan that only one bullet was used on the monkey--he specifically asks Sumadthan about the bullet numbers each time. He never KNOWS for sure that chachu was killed by bullet, but in each loop, he considers this to be a possibility (due to the mounting evidence) that can trap his son as a murderer. So he burns the evidence. Appu Pillai is lucky--he never knows the truth, as that is lost in his memory. He only surmises each time from evidence, only to promptly burn it, and forget.

@@nirmalraj8063 Correct. he saw it, at that time he knew it....but then, he forgot. he kept searching through events on he disappearance---->searches through al his history for problems and possible culprits----> gets his connection to Jagadeesh----> talks to Jagdeesh---> understands the gun and bullets stuff (a single bullet to monkey)----> starts to suspect either Asif of wife (or maybe even himself!!). In the first loop, he was sure it was not him, but afterwards, he may not even be sure of that...but he burns all the evidence he has collected for the umpteenth time....only to again start to wonder, "what happened to Chachu?"
