Evidence That King David’s Descendants Survived In Exile

When Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem, it appeared that King David’s descendants had not survived. However, during excavations of Babylon in 1903, archaeologist Robert Koldewey discovered an inscription mentioning the King of Judah. This find proved to be archaeological evidence demonstrating that David’s royal line lived through exile, which was necessary for God’s promise to be fulfilled that the Messiah would come from the House of David.

In 1901 Germany brings Pergamon's Altar of Zeus (which Jesus in Revelation calls the throne/seat of Satan) to Germany, so they bring the ancient headquarters of Satan there. Then in 1918 they bring the Ishtar gate of Babylon to Germany. I'd just leave such things alone to be safe.

Interesting. Have you ever looked into the *Star of Remphan* that the Bible mentions in the books of Acts and Amos? It's a well-known symbol in our world today associated with those we read about in Revelation 2:9 & 3:9. The Israelis are painstakingly excavating the archaeology of their country and relating it to the Old and New Testaments. Some of it is later generations building on top of the old city. This happens still today - there is a whole level of Seattle that is below the modern streets. It is more than a ruin but less than a basement. It is called the underground. The rest is just the natural movement of the soil. Buildings are denser than loose soil, so over time, anything that isn't on bedrock will tend to sink. It is a slow process, but people with old houses already have to deal with it. And it's been thousands of years!

Think of how lush islands are formed, sir, when initially they're no more than barren volcanic rock. It's more than just a degradation of the materials by way of sunlight and wind/water erosion. It's also more than seeds having floated in or [having] been deposited by birds and the like. All across the planet, the air is full of small particulates in the form of organic matter, swept up [from the ground, from trees, etc.] by the wind and then deposited elsewhere. Given the passage of enough time (and, well, disuse), any site is bound to gradually get coated in concentric layers (so to speak) of detritus to which [then] bits of soil naturally adhere, and vice versa. This is the same way amenable bits of otherwise sheer mountain slopes obtain a thin veneer of soil, grasses, and so on. Unless constantly tended to (such as [were] the Parthenon and many of the Egyptian monuments), ancient ruins always suffer some degree of burial.

@@fluffysheap in the Western hemisphere, sometimes it's not so much sinking as the soil actually increases. The grass and other plants lay down tiny layers of new soil from decay of the plants. The Middle East also had more vegetation than we assume. If you pay attention to what you're reading it is implied everywhere. Especially in the West we tend to have the idea that the Middle East is, and always has been, a barren looking desert - not so. Think about it, Abraham and Lot could never have raised the number of livestock they had if it were the case. Think more like The Great Plains. We also have a different, and unsupported, idea of the meaning "wilderness" when we read the Bible - different than if we talk about the American wilderness, when we generally think of remote mountain regions full of trees. Dirt also blows in and accumulates next to buildings, and Babylon was actually uninhabited for a long time, so ambient deposition is a valid idea.

@@nigelcharles72 totally missing something important. You see the historical...God is Spirit! Clearly you aren't a believer. And God created this world...and everything in it. His True Word, surpasses ALL THINGS! Even things written before we received His Comforter and the Torah, which came before that. The whole point of the Holy Bible is this...Do You Believe? I know where my heart rests. Matthew 12:34-"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." The latter part is so true...(as with the first of this scripture in today's ever changing world...this age we're in)...but the latter...what is in the heart of many? To try to disprove what God has established from the foundations of the world...before anything was...He was! God bless you! I hope you find Yeshua Jesus soon, because He Is Returning soon! Amen 🙏🏼
