A couple fun facts: -Bruce Campbell actually makes a cameo as the priest in the recording who says "It's called the book of the dead for a reason!" -Lee Cronin actually came up with the final monster idea because, "It was like the most fucked up family hug." I love your reactions btw!! So much fun to rewatch it with you!

Further factoid: "It's called the book of the dead for a reason" according to Lee Cronin, this voice is Ash traveling through time trying to stop instances of the book ever being read and failing every time because, well..... He's Ash.

He was also the priest who was READING the book. That's why neither Ash nor the priest are listed in the end credits. They wanted people to think he wasn't there to keep it a surprise.

It is rare to say this about a kid in a horror movie. But I loved Kassie. that moment when she goes "I know you're not my mommy anymore" And she actually WAS a bad ass like she said in the beginning. You know, for a kid.

As someone who has had my earring ripped out accidentally by my brothers dog I nearly flew out the room when that elevator scene happened. Calling a plastic surgeon hysterical crying on new years was an eye opening experience and this is why we dont wear hoops around anything larger than a goldfish.

I'm a straight dude you stumbled on to ZZAVID, which lead to the Horror Hour. THH lead to this and a bunch of other gay horror reaction channels. I already knew how fun gay people can be-I have gay friends and one of my bffs is gay, AND gay bars are my favorite (better music, better drinks/drink specials/and, lots of straight girls who, if you don't hassle them the way they are in straight clubs, you have better chances with), and I love horror, but I never knew how well the two would go together. So happy to have found all these channels. Gay horror reactions are my new favorite thing.

Your reaction was great. Also, I really liked the way you reacted to the son finding the book and the records. Some reactors spend movies hating the person who is responsible for calling the demons but, yes, you guys are right : those characters are supposed to live in reality, and in reality, even if I found a weird creepy book, never would I think it can summon demons, because those sort of things do not exist. Plus, the son was right : it could have been worth something. At least he has a reason for taking it. And he tried to stop it, the only one in the franchise to do so, before the incantation was complete. Anyway, great film, you guys are clearly evil dead fans, so, I'm going to suscribe.

This movie just had everything you d want from an evil dead movie! I got to go see it with friends and my homegirl said she was dying from watching my faces. My favorite horror movie of the year I was blown away in theaters I had my friends watch evil dead rise as their introduction to the franchise and some were left speechless. That deadite in the finale is horrific. The mom gave such an amazing performance like she was good before the possession but the moment she got possessed the performance was fantastic the line of “OPEN THIS DOOR LIKE YOU OPEN YOUR LEGS YOU GROUPIE SLUT” like Oop 🤣. We all know the stakes are high when kids are involved in a franchise that makes sure their victims suffer horrible things and I’m not much of a kids person but I don’t want to see them suffer like that.

Bruce Campbell IS in this movie as a cameo. He was the record on the record player. He's both the priest reading the book, but he was ALSO the guy yelling to "Destroy it" and "It's called the book of the dead for a reason." By the way, the guy who wants it destroyed, according to Lee Cronin, is Ash traveling through time.

Bruce Campbell was in it. In the recording you hear him yelling at the priest not to read from the book. The book the priest found was 1 of 3. So technically Ash read from the first book. Which deals with the multiverse because he was sent back in time. The second standalone movie from 2000 something. That would be the second book which happened in another universe. Now this movie is the 3rd book or could be the first. Maybe Ash was sent back in time once more and that is why we hear him telling them not to read from it. He KNEW!... i hope they make more.

I was very surprised that there were children in the cast, I mean, in an _Evil Dead_ movie, LOL. Didn't expect it but it added a lot of peril and suspense to the mix. The movie makes such good use of a semi-decrepid apartment building ... very claustrophobic setting for the bulk of a horror film to take place in. And yet the movie doesn't feel confined, if you know what I mean. Really, the first two flicks took place in a little cabin so why not. If you haven't watched them yet I would definitely recommend Session 9, REC, and The Orphanage. Thanks for a fun video!
