My two close friends began acting up the moment i disclosed i was getting married. They were so angry because i had kept my relationship private. I prayed a prayer. 'Lord hide me from they that seek to harm me. Whoever is not for me, cause them to miss all my marriage ceremonies.' Long story short - my friends went mute on me and never attended any of my ceremonies. It hurt me so bad but Mom advised me to let go explaining that they were never genuine friends to begin with... My sister started staying away from her friends the day they didn't even bother to attend her traditional marriage with the excuse that they went to church. Her reason was that the girl kept showing her properties she was acquiring but never bothered to solve her needs as friends, from that day I became skeptical of her, I didn’t like that she was envious of her friend’s success and I was afraid that if I became successful too she will become envious of me. When you have a so called "best friend" who never visited you in your father's house, you were instrumental in her choice of a husband; you called everytime even when they were abroad to the point of finishing your credit, but she never calls nor chats, even when she returns home from abroad she never cared to visit with you even though you were in a house of your own right up to the point you lost your parent, she was the first to be informed, yet she never called most of the time to console nor come around to visit. I screamed when you said people who want your life. I experienced this recently and your spot on. Its been a recurring theme for me. I had to learn the hard way. I don’t believe in best friends. I can’t be close friends with women with low self esteem. It’s a non negotiable for me.
