That organ is temperamental, and sounds like nothing else. You have anger issues, and out there imagination. You two are a match in heaven :-D

Love the outro jam. My stages of troubleshooting grief are very much the same. As far as dirty organ, my keyboardist has a Korg SV-1 that she runs through a Boss Fuzz pedal to dirty it up. Whenever we record her I spend a lot of time trying to make it sound like a cheap, shitty 60s transistor organ. You're saving so much time starting with something that's already messed up!

6:40 I had a feeling they were NPN transistors lol And I love these repair videos. I wish I didn't let my electronics knowledge go to waste. I'm so foggy with troubleshooting gear.

Thank you, I have a Tascam 488 portastudio that has a bunch of minor issues. Going to utilize the chopstick and contact cleaner method first and see what happens

Contact cleaner on all the pots and switches often fixes a lot.

Not really related to the video but the about your album. The back album artwork, I can't believe you unspooled that much tape for a picture, although it was a cool picture. What made you think to do that. How was it afterwards, what did you do with the tape? I enjoy your videos, so much!
@Mario_DiSanto
@Mario_DiSanto 10 ай бұрын
I used a bum batch of tape so nothing "of value" was lost. I had that idea for a picture for a long time when I first had the idea of making an album. So I had the plan to do so for years until I finally did it.

The outro demo was sick! Two questions. Where did you learn about electronic repair? And what was your recording set up for the outro?
@Mario_DiSanto
@Mario_DiSanto 10 ай бұрын
Years of toying around with half working audio equipment. Apparently you learn really quickly when you got low budget vintage junkaroonie! I have an engineering background but that helps only minimally. The 'chopstick' method could teach you more than years of schooling. Everything was recorded with my little portable cassette recorder on the chair.

@@Mario_DiSanto That’s interesting. I have a chopstick and a stereo that I want to repair so I’ll give a try. Last question. Was the organ connected to a looper pedal?

Pretty impressive! I finally got my nerve up and managed to pull out and reseat all 16 of my channel cards on my atr60-16. It was nerve wracking but I didn’t break one. Channel one sounded like it was under water, as of yesterday it’s clean! Hope nothing has changed over night🥹. I had a very temperamental Vox Continental. It was the Jennings English version. All the germanium transistors would go out of tune if it got cold. Would have to constantly adjust the bias screws!!! Sold it and got another one that is behaving properly !!
