Any long term review feedback ? Thanks.

What they mean integrated power steering is all aspects of the power steering are housed within the outboard. On Mercury Verado the power steering is a separate unit that is placed somewhere in the boat.

make sure to tell everyone about the overheating problems, and how customer service will blow you off when you loose one or more cylinders

Is there any real feedback from a G2 owner? These have been out for a couple of years now and if there are issues it would nice to know as im looking at upgrading but need more info.

Boating forums are the best place for that feedback. We can only report on what we see and experience on the day.

Great outboard unreal power, torque & fuel economy. Pity about the steering too much play . Go over 50 mph & the motor moves around too much causing the dreaded chine walk. Not happy at all
@michaelduong38528 жыл бұрын
Didn't mercury have the integrated power steering on their verado before the G2? like all the way back in 2006... so it doesn't seem all that new to me at all imo...
@SteveMorganFishingMonthly8 жыл бұрын
Correct - although Evinrude seems to be the only one in the marketplace with integrated power steering on 150-175HP outboards. It's only standard on 2.6L Verados 200-400HP.

Steve Morgan OHHHHH makes sense! Thanks for the correcting me!
@RomainSandt8 жыл бұрын
isn't a 150HO a 175? and a 175 a 200? you notice how when you compare car engines you look at the torque and at how it's deliverd... outboards manufacturers never give those numbers. so basicly, just choose between 4L, V6, power you need, and then make your choice with the one that has the best design for your boat. realibility is the same for all now.
@melrose92527 жыл бұрын
Romain Sandt No, a 150HO is rated to the max of the 150 rating that requires production outboards to be within 10% + or - of the advertised rating. A 175 set up properly on the same boat will outperform a 150HO as will a 200 outperform a 175 HO.

DTS is also not that new . typical BRP . just make a good engine and it will sell itself

@lucasdansie8 жыл бұрын
i agree what etec did you own iv seen several and they are fantastic and also was the outboard underpowered for the size boat? they are incredible on fuel

I had nothing but issues with my Yamaha and am closing on a boat with the Evinrude 200 HO this weekend.

HyperXism Can you give any info/feedback on how the engine has been for you? I'm seriously considering the same engine. Thanks!

I've got 4 years to the month on my gen 1 etec 115,running as good as day 1.I replaced my fuel filter,plugs,and lower unit all myself at 3 years.always flush it and I dont baby it.still on original water pump impeller too. No overheating idling for 10 mins at the dock.running the premium xd100 oil,but have the motor programmed to burn xd50,so it should be double oiling.no smoke under 2,000 rpm,and see very little after running 20 mins w.o.t. at5,600 rpm and come back on idle..then clears up in minutes back to no smoke.sorry you are having issues.
