I am so glad you like it, Dan! Patti is my favorite, as well, and I started it because I had all this stuff and wanted to share. I'm so happy that people are interested in watching her the same way I am.

@@JoannesVodkaStinger I'm super late (and u probably already know this), but film's audio tends to speed up with age, which is why some recordings of patti's rainbow high sound INCREDIBLY fast. This doesn't sound like it's been sped up very much, but it faces common pitch issues found in most old film. Its an easy fix but can sound wonky if done wrong. Hope this was helpful!

I don't know, but we're so lucky she exists! And you are so very welcome! I hope it was worth the wait. :-)

It definitely was...I love comparing this to the opening night audio and even the cast album where you can hear some struggle and the way she attempts to navigate the crazy belting. You can hear her improving in this video, and by the time the Tony Awards rolled around, she totally had it nailed. I love seeing and hearing her progress as Evita, now if only we could get our hands on anything from the San Francisco run...

San Francisco/LA would be amazing! The Holy Grail. Someone must have recorded it, because people seem to love to record musicals that are just opening. It's just a matter of that person actually putting it out there. It's probably in someone's grandfather's/dad's pile of tapes in the basement. It's on my list of must haves and I am always on the hunt so, if I ever find something like that, I'll let you know!

@@JoannesVodkaStinger please do! Someone HAS to have SOMETHING...I’d love to hear something from Australia too since that’s when she was the most confident

Thanks! I really just wanted to watch that one boot that is so difficult to see and thought everyone else might want to see bits of it, too. Welcome to the channel!

I kind of hope they actually did sing this a semitone higher. It makes it even more epic that these are Fs and not Es

That would be actual insanity. The top note then would be an A5

Do you happen to have the Patti-Evita Press Reels, I’ve seen some video of it in an interview but have never seen the full thing.
@JoannesVodkaStinger3 жыл бұрын
I wish. I keep looking for them, but I haven't run across them yet. The most I've seen is in an interview or two. If I ever find them, I will post them. :-)

Has this been sped up? It's a semitone higher
@JoannesVodkaStinger3 жыл бұрын
You know, I'm not sure. You're not the first person who has said that but it's just the way the recording plays. Maybe the person who had the file before sped it up or maybe it's just due to age...?

@@JoannesVodkaStinger i think it might just have been an issue with the tape transfer. i researched this before a while ago and higher pitched audio is usually an issue with the motors inside tape decks
