It's an exercise in appreciating how different sources can be way different. This video was, of course, more detailed, but it also conflicted with what I remember from Wikipedia. The latter should never be trusted for complete and accurate information nor should this channel. It takes a good bit of reading to put together an accurate and full picture. So I'll continue my education, but this was a good start. If feels so much better to be engaged for half an hour rather than the 5 to 10 minutes for most KZbin videos.

The musical "Ragtime" incorporates several historical figures, such as J.P. Morgan, George Washington Carver, Emma Goldman, and Evelyn Nesbit. The Unsinkable Molly Brown, and Annie Oakley (Annie Get your Gun) would also make for good cases to highlight some impressive female historical figures. PT Barnum (The Greatest Showman and another "Barnum") has become so talked about he almost seems more a tall tale or folk hero, so setting the record straight on him would be good. From "Newsies", you could examine the life of Joseph Pulitzer. Frank Abegnale (Catch Me if you Can), was covered in a movie that got converted to a musical, but did they omit or take creative license with his story? And I could only imagine the Biographics version of correcting/ explaining "Hamilton".

The fact that Perón is the subject of a 32-minute-long video made by an Englishman who has no relation whatsoever with Argentina, shows, how much of a significant figure Peron was in the 20th century. He has been the most brilliant Argentine to ever been born, no one will ever get even close to his deep understanding of politics. He was the first and only one to get Argentina onto the right path , a path leading to economic prosperity, industrialisation, social justice and a pure nationaljusticialist society free of the evils of capitalism and communism. Italy and Germany had previously tried to carry out the same kind of economic and social policies only to get destroyed by the benevolent allies, it looks like only a few nations are entitled to breaking its chains. Nowadays Nationaljusticialism no loger exists, what people now call Peronism is nothing other than a remnant of the greatest political movement in Argentina's history.....Peronism has come to be a """"party""" full of a bunch of leftists disguised as nationalists, seeking to please international usury and bring our society into degeneration.

A thoroughly great video, Simon, and thanks for taking the trouble to do it! For a fascinating, you-couldn't-make-it-up story, I am amazed that documentary makers of late on the lame stream media could do such a rubbish job (particularly the BBC last year. It was about the 40th Anniversary of the musical Evita but in 2019, it was Eva Peron's Centenary of her birth). I recall something I read a good few years ago that Evita cancelled her visit to England through a misunderstanding of protocol (which was a huge shame). As hers was a goodwill tour and not an official state visit, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth agreed to meet her … not at Buckingham Palace but Windsor Castle! Evita took this as a snub and cancelled her visit. Of course, there are many different myths and rumours about her life (sometimes she would spin her early life) and lashings of propaganda by regimes and juntas to totally destroy the Perons after she died and after Juan Peron was overthrown.

How about Dolly Levi? She is the subject of the show, Hello, Dolly! They made a movie about the Broadway musical. I Barbara Streisand played Dolly. I think that she did a stint on Broadway, but Carol Channing, made the role famous. The Musical is based on the book by Thorton Wilder, The Merchant of Yonkers.

This is the most interesting part of history of Argentina. They may not be right most the time but they fought hard for Argentina and did what they could.

The founder of the Foursquare Church, Aimee Semple McPherson. The movie Elmer Gantry had a character that was supposed to be her. Kathie Lee Gifford, I believe, wrote a short-lived musical about her.

Was it her cancer making her an extremist, or was it that she knew what the country would fall into after her death and she wanted to make sure the ordinary people of Argentina could defend themselves against future dictatorships.

I have heard that the musical Sweeney Todd is actually based in fact. I would love to see a video exploring Mrs. Lovett’s meat pies!
