They gave him the sword we've been asking for since Brawl, maybe even Melee, they improved his air game drastically, they fixed his character design (TP Ganon is a bore to look at), AND THEY FIXED HIS ALTS. His smash attack now have more range, up smash covers both sides and can be used to cover rolls, and the hitboxes are disjointed from his body.

@@kylekite9806 I'm just glad his up smash isn't as slow as Ike's. Ganon had one of if not THE best up smashes in 4. The f-smash will take some getting used to, but I think it's better overall. And down smash is literally just cloud's, which is DEFINITELY not a problem.

@@ayar2 oh hell no. F-smash is about the same speed, given the above hitbox, and D-smash is just faster. U-smash is the only one that's slower, and even then not by much.

as someone who plays Ganondorf constantly (without being my main) I cant help but feel that the sword could hold him back, u smash was one of his best moves in 4, while f smash was cool for up close punishes (the wind up for his new f smash i feel could get easily interrupted with a jab). d smash looks fine, but it is me or judging by earlier videos its has difficulties chaining into itself?

lol i didnt get to play it long enough to form a proper opinion but from what i played it seems fun! more fast paced than smash 4 which i like. characters seem to fall faster and move faster although it felt more 'slippery.' i think this game has a better chance of having melee players give it a proper try but i dont think melee players will ever move from their game. still much slower than melee, did not play enough to tell how neutral played out lol but overall i liked it! i hope to play again soon with a gamecube controller and no items

I think too slow is finally a non issue, it took 2 games of trial and error but Id say the pace finally has hit a decent middleground

@@gatorssbm OPINION ALERT the problem has never been game 'speed' with smash 4, the problem is survivability: games drag on because edgeguarding is so much harder in smash4 cos of the ledge mechanics. This hasnt changed in ultimate BUT the airdodge changes make it a little bit easier to edgeguard effectively. Imo.

No. If I recall, continuously using air dodge, even to do this waveland, reduces the effectiveness of air dodge for some time. Not recommended to do in the long run

When I wasn't getting a forward smash to the face, good! Hard to pinpoint the feel but everyone moves and falls faster than in Smash4 which I like. Its hard to tell when you are going to die off a hit. I wish items were off so we could play more normally without things in the way but it certainly plays "faster"

idk, it worked on the warlock punch but I got evaporated when i ran in with it the second time. A continuous counter would be broken so who knows what it does lol next time ill opt for not like standing there while the punch is coming haha

Watched it over a few times. The uptilt seems both faster and weaker, but the angle it sent him was very odd. Unless the properties of the move have been drastically changed, he must have DI'ed downward, hence why he was able to tech the move. He was only at about 40% I think b4 he got hit, so let's keep that in mind too. Wonder if they will change it b4 the game comes out...

weak hit. The main hitbox is on the ground. A phantom hit wouldn't have stunned him the way it did. iirc reports have claimed that utilt is both faster and stronger (on the main hitbox) although the move will still be next to unusable in comp play.

@@equu497 that decrease in lag will make it decent for ledge trapping, if you want something _slightly_ less committal than a Smash attack and/or want to cover get up attack and shield. Even with 4's century of start-up, I've gotten some cheesy ledge kills/shield breaks with up tilt.

zenith SSBM it looks like the vertical line is longer though. I think you got killed by the ganon upsmash, but because it also hit the smash ball it made that noise. In other footage the fake one doesn't damage you until you break it i think. I could be wrong though.
