I’m assuming this is good for any transmission make/model? I need to change my trans fluid on my Focus ST and was gonna go with motul dctf. Still on the factory fill at 90k miles.

are you only using the MTL then , so the Mitsubishi SAE 90 that you are pumping from is already empty and you are not actually pumping that into it? just making sure so that you are only using that to pump the MTL oil that you have put into the mitsubishi bottle correct? thank you

Hey I have a 12 evo gsr 2nd and 3rd are usually really rough shifts when it's cold or just first driving it after going through gears few times goes away would this fluid help with that usually only like this for about 10mins of driving then it's fine after that

Interesting method. Any reason you didn’t go with 140 or the 250 shockproof? My buddy and I had the same issue with 4th and me in 3rd in our R33 and R32s respectively and it completely got rid of the issue. We were in a slightly cooler climate and no issue with thickness and performance.

Alex Labrador I went and have gone with this combo multiple time because it’s already been proven to work great for our cars. I’m sure there are other fluids like the ones you named that would work great too but this combo is put together specifically for the Evo X

Would this cocktail work on a evo 5 speed? I recently swapped my 6-speed for a 5 speed. And I've had trouble with my clutch pedal assembly, the bracket Or flange that the clutch pedal. Bolts on broke. So I had a mechanic. Reinforce the bracket and everything seems to be a lot better. But then after I swap my 6 speed for a 5-speed things were good for about a month and then started to have problems with the transmission in getting into some gears So next week I just replaced. All the bushings under the hood and I switch to a short shifter. And I'm still having problems getting into gears, I'm at the point where I don't know what to do. . By the way, love watching all your videos.

Bounleuth Nammakhot Thanks for supporting the channel! 👍🏼 honestly sounds like with the custom work done something’s not aligning correctly causing going into gear being an issue. Not sure if the fluid would be the difference maker. Would it help or work with that’s trans I would read on redlines website to see if it’s compatible. Good luck my friend!!

Hey so about three years ago i changed the trans fluid on my 5 speed lancer gts, and forever regretted it, every gear crunched and its as if the synchros were just gone. Now i have a 2008 GSR with 125k miles, and basically before the car is at operating temperature , 1-2 and 2-3 pose a few problems. So here i am thinking, if i change out the fluid for this cocktail mix, is it going to help or is it going to hurt.. i dont know if the trans oil has been changed before and i dont know if its the synchro shavings that is holding it together and that changing ti will royally fk it up. Any advice?

I upgraded with this cocktail for my tranny more than 2 years ago..great product but it doesn’t illiminate the problem at a warm run you will always have it..maperformance needs to make a better shifter boot than the stock plastic evo boot..thats the problem..great video

Joe Mazzurco Thanks man! You shouldn’t get any issues hot or cold?? I’ve done this fluid change on my person daily threw a couple changes and 3 other local evos and they don’t have the issue at all. Zero crunch in 3rd for all of us! I’m telling you personal experience 100% gone! They could have changed the formula if it’s been 2 or 3 years since you’ve done it, I watched a old video of someone doing this change and the fluid was another color and was the same brand & that was years and years ago. If it’s been that long you’re most likely ready for some fresh. Either way I agree you gonna change those rubber and plastic bushings in the shifter assembly like in the short shifter install video I just did. Big upgrade there too 👍🏼

I used this cocktail as well and its not completely gone I still get alittle crunch during colder weather cold start but once the car fully warms up its smooth.

Redline has the MT-85 fluid which I’ve heard can be used in place of the “cocktail” wondering if you’ve used the 85?

I have not used the other kind despite it may be great. Rather use the specifically Evo x made bundle “cocktails fluid mix”, just to keep it guaranteed safe

Richard Knight I do mine every 35k~ish miles. Just redid my clutch with fresh fluid a little early at 63k miles which is it’s 2nd fluid change and the tcase, rear diff and yawn I replace at the same time which I’ll be doing in another 5-10k miles ( around 70k, first time around 35k )

My Evo is only 20000 miles. But when its cold start my evo will grind on second and whines until it warms up. When it is warm everything runs fine. Will this fix it? I'm. Nookie. Sorry. If you cn answer my question. Thanks!

Jimmy Thao definitely would not hurt anything to try this new fluid out. You can probably use a fluid change regardless so might as well try it out with something new. Let me know if it works!

You are supposed to have the car level with the fill bolt off and let the excess oil drain until oil level is flush with bottom of full hole. This ensures it is not over filled as per the manual.

dsmtsi If measured as I did it wouldn’t make a difference if the car was up or down. It’s filled to the desired amount regardless. That would be a good tip if you filled without measuring and did it by the overflow
