I'm a Zangief fanatic. This was beyond epic when I first saw it.

@MuminJumper Actually, the walking 720 is easier to pull off in 4 than it is in previous games due to the shortcut for the motion. You only have to input a 540 instead of a full 720, and the motions can be partitioned slightly(you can switch directions for each 270 motion that is inputted). So what you do is cr. jab, and during the recovery frames, begin at up back, and make 270 on the pad/joystick to forward, hold for a split second, and then another 270 reversing the initial motion
@Aznballer81714 жыл бұрын
@Genereaver Actually, a 360 input only requires 6 directional inputs. So you can start from back to down-back, down, down-forward, forward, up-forward.

These are the best commentators I have listened to, I can hear Seth Killian in there, I'm not sure who the others are but they are excellent.
@TheHiRisk80813 жыл бұрын
@Luper1billion Yes. The 720 motion is stored while you walk forward. The storing of the motion works with other characters too. I've done it online and offline multiple times. Just watch how Vangief does it. That's how I got the idea on how he does walking 720's. Nice example is Blanka's stored charge to do cross up ultra 1 after a throw. Or Deejay's walking ultra after ex up punch while midscreen. It works with other characters with double qcf inputs too!

Vangief and Infiltration are two of the most underrated players in the SF community...No doubt they are in the top 10 IMO.

@MekaRunner Thanks man! Do you know how the Mad Catz fightpad fares at this level of play? I saw Shizza, the best Chun-li in NA supposedly, use it. So it must be decent? Also, I love the button layout.
@ewicexclamationpoint14 жыл бұрын
@PauloEifel You can buffer the directional inputs on the pad, exploiting the fact that the pad has both a d-pad and an analog stick to keep the 360 throw constantly at the ready.
@Lpedraja200214 жыл бұрын
Whoa! That has to be the best Zangief player I've seen O_o The accuracy of his hits are incredible. Damn @ 2:44 how the hell did he do that? That's just amazing. Also, what i don't get is that Justin Wong lost here so is he fighting against an Adon on another video?
@genereaver14 жыл бұрын
@PauloEifel A 360 requires that you input all four cardinal directions within a set amount of time. This is no big deal, as all character have four frames before they actually get into the air, so you can input forward, down, back, up and then immediately press punch or kick before your character jumps. What's so impressive about a walk-in 720 is that he's inputting forward, down, back, up, and then doing the entire motion again time within 4 frames (4/60 of a second) and then Punches/kicks.
@emjay-gaming14 жыл бұрын
@Narkomanden he did some standing 720 ultras, thats the amazing part
@genereaver14 жыл бұрын
@Aznballer817 Reread what I said, and take into account that I was explaining it to somebody who doesn't know that every diagonal direction counts as an input of either of it's two components (so up-forward counts as either up or forward, but only one at a time; this is why you can input SRK with just down-forward, down, down-forward). Also, I said 4, so you actually increased the complexity with your six; a 360 can be input with d, r, u, l, if you're fast and dextrous enough.
@bluasterisk14 жыл бұрын
@frillyslippers It doesn't necessarily mean pads are at a disadvantage. Shizza is a pad player (representing us Chun-li players) only prefers to play on pad, he does play on the stick too, but he prefers the pad. It's just about what you're more comfortable with since many players can do some pretty amazing stuff still on the pad.
@Esuslol13 жыл бұрын
It's going to be available as both DLC and a retail release. The DLC (for people that already own SSF4) is going to be about $15, whereas for those who don't own a copy of SSF4 can just buy the Arcade Edition for $40.
@Luper1billion13 жыл бұрын
@FlipWilSRK so basically its like a buffer trick? the 720 motion stays even while you walk forward?
@Aznballer81714 жыл бұрын
@Genereaver actually, it's more practical with the method i mentioned because it's also a jump cancel, which is also required for characters like ibuki and viper.
@Dablackguy70714 жыл бұрын
@Lpedraja2002 yeah here he's fighting vangief in the WINNER's bracket. He lost so he was sent to the LOSER's bracket where he fought Gamerbee who was using Adon. Wong lost to him so he was eliminated from the SSF4 portion of the tournament.

@roarmonsterful oh el fuerte's footsies are cr. mk, far hk which is a 2 hit and an over head.... cr. hp as anti-air, f+mk for overhead and going over low attacks and cr. jab/lk which short range but man he can link them.
@TheHiRisk80813 жыл бұрын
Walking 720's are easy to do in match. Buffer the 720 on a blocked or whiffed normal (eg. s.jab or c.jab), hold forward, take a step or two so the block stun wears out, then do a single 360 + PPP and call it a day. Using U2 for Gief is even worse in AE. You can do a walking 720, take a step or two, then finish the 360 with u/f+PPP if opponent jumps. If the opponent doesn't jump, you can use super or regular SPD.
@d956impala13 жыл бұрын
@ZeroChristMass not a walking 720, if you look carefully he does a crouching light kick n buffers the 720 while doing so all he has to do is press the buttons when he is standing up

@AsesinoDeLaConsola basically it means dancing in and out of your character's range and in and out of their range. ideally you would hit them when they're in ur range but you are not in theirs. when you see them move back and forth a lot their testing it

@Toxicmountain97 he never does true standing 720. its always while he is in block/hit stun or in the animation of a wiffed normal so the 'up' command in the 720 doesnt make him jump :)
@emjay-gaming14 жыл бұрын
@PauloEifel Yeah Genereaver and lulzultra pretty much explained it, its basically a very hard input to do without a move or jump to buffer while you do the motion. The easiest way to understand it though is to just try walking then doing a 720 ultra, most people including myself have never done it even once let alone in a tournament in front of thousands of people playing justin wong

@MangaVoltage the weird thing is he chose Ultra 2, I understand how useful it is against a lot of enemies, but he had tons of opportunities for Ultra 1 to connect. I really don't care for JW, but even I think he wasn't really taking his opponents seriously (i.e. Gamerbee's Adon).
@lcarusHasFoundYou14 жыл бұрын
@lulzultra It's very uncommon for tournament pad players to use the analog stick. Usually when people say "pad" they specifically mean the d-pad portion of the controller.
@hune18214 жыл бұрын
I heard pad is better for gief(I can be wrong) but he you notice him moving back and forth sometimes thats him getting it charged up but the walking 720 is amazing esp the back up into the ultra and the fact he stuck with gief after the nerfs while most moved on rather then adjusting their gameplay is in itself admirable.

@meowskull That's not true, look up "Amazing Cyclops comeback" on youtube. It's really just one example, believe it or not Justin Wong makes amazing clutches just as often as Daigo, if not more. He's the best Marvel vs Capcom player, and is one of the best street fighter players no matter which street fighter we're talking about. He is very good at many fighting games and wins tournaments in them all the time. I don't know why people hate on him so much, they'd probably all get owned by him.

@ThisIsKeef I think you can also tell who are the new comers and who are the veterans of this game by their preference. Anyone that prefers Hori sticks are definitely not all veterans, that ball point design was never in American arcades, they used the Club design back in the day. I can play Stick as well as Pad, but most sticks use way too much force that doesn't match the sensitivity a properly designed pad can accomplish. Unless you buy some insanely expensive custom stick.
