He wasn't ALWAYS a Ryu guy. He actually started maining Guile in SF2. He also mained, during various iterations of the game: Ken, Yun, Zangief, Balrog (boxer), Sagat, Evil Ryu, Cammy, Urien, Chun-Li. He's also notoriously a great Sol Badguy player in Guilty Gear and an excellent Vampire Saviour/Vampire Hunter player.

Shendue He's not even a Ryu guy now, it's cool to think of Daigo, a Japanese god being a Ryu character loyalist and almost a personification of Ryu but it's not really true. He's been more loyal to tiers than anything. Boxer& Guile, Ken in 3s, then Yun and E Ryu in SF4. Valle has been more of a Ryu loyalist than Daigo ever has been.

@marymouse91 I believe, In the japanese version of the game Balrog is M. Bison, M, Bison is Vega, and Vega is Balrog. Capcom US changed the names in the US release, I believe. That's why some people refer to Vega as Claw, Bison as Dictator, and Balrog as Boxer. Just to avoid confusion.

@guilhermewolfman It's called buffering. The input for the dash straight is charge back for 2 seconds, then press forward and punch. The input for the Super Combo is charge back for 2 seconds, then press forward, back, forward and punch. All you do is throw an extra punch after the first forward & not only will you get the dash straight, but you'll also get the Super Combo. It's not that impressive if you know the timing, but it IS impressive to beat O.Sagat down like that! DAMN!

@WW3seeker It's "old Sagat", the Sagat version from SSF2 (not Turbo), which is why he has no super bar. His recovery time on tiger shots is shorter than SSF2T Sagat's.

@PlatinumBD In Super Turbo, you can choose two versions of the character (Regular version or "old" version). You must input a special code with the d-pad to select the old version of the character. The old version is the Super Street Fighter II (NOT SUPER TURBO) version of the character. The old versions basically don't have the ability to do supers but their specials and normals do much more damage. O.Sagat, O.Ken, and O.Hawk are stronger than their regular counterparts.

Well Balrog counters Sagat in nearly every game they appear in together. The design of Sagat vs. Balorg is just that way. Balrog in ST can headbut through fireballs and his dash punch will trade with tigershots at mid range. It's a full time job keeping Balrgo out, because he has so many options to get in and inflict damage,

Ok at 00:08 into the video Balrog does 3 crouching light punchs into a charge punch! For some reason, I have been under the weird and crazy impression that in SFII (all versions) you couldnt link more than one punch in a chain into a special move without changing positions?? For instance you could do 2 crouching lights into a standing light then a special or 2 standing lights into a crouching light and a special but if you did 2/3 standing/crouching lights punchs the special wouldnt come out????

I'm not 100% sure, but I think this is actually ST from the Capcom Classics Collection or whatever the game anthology is. If I remember correctly they switched to HSFII in 2006 (I remember this being controversial at the time).

@alundrasrt Only SF super turbo (I think, so many versions) has a super bar/super. Different versions have sometimes completely different movesets, like Ryu only has his overhead/dash punch in turbo and super turbo, and the direction of the airborne tornado kick changes, and some he cant do it in the air at all.

Balrog is named M.Bison as he is an imitation of Mike Tyson. They changed the character names around for the US release so that there was no infringement on Tyson.

@PlatinumBD Daigo mained V-Ryu in Alpha 3 (switched from V-Akuma to V-Ryu after playing Alex Valle). Daigo mains Ryu in Super Turbo. He only plays Balrog, O.Sagat, and sometimes Guile to cover for Ryu's bad matchups (or when he feels like it). His trademark psychic DP/Umeshoryuken came from his Ryu matches in Super Turbo. The only Street Fighter game where Daigo didn't main Ryu is 3rd Strike where he mained Ken.

SFII sprites didn't have as much shading as the Alpha sprites. That's why Balrog is so light. His ST pallette makes him look even more lighter. although Deejay's sprites are dark, Balrog's sprite were made much earlier then Deejay's. The New Challengers had more shading and are drawn more porportional compared to the previous fighters (their heads are not as big as the previous 12 warriors.)

I pull this off quite easily since ive practiced it so much. The key is to use the light kick lower uppercut dash. And you cannot make contact with it, you must wiff the uppercut. After it wiffs just hit another left,right then do your P/K

They communicate boxer's turn punch level, by pressing the three punches or three kicks simultaneously the more you hold them the more damage the turn punch will do. Once you release the buttons thus performing the turn punch the announcer's voice will tell you what level of turn punch you did. There are 8 levels: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,MAX (the announcer will say MAX instead of 8).

if youre holding down-back, do the headbutt by moving the direction to upright (thats the up to down motion) and you havent lost your back charge yet. you can do your back to front after.

well im not sure if it works in SF2 but in SF IV you can basically buffer your special with an attack from rog. While your in motion for the super, the first forward motion throw a punch but keep going on the super you will do a charge attack + Super
