And as said before, Claw is the only character in the game that has absolutely NO disadvantage match-ups. At all. That alone ends the argument.

@@kether82 very few characters can actually beat it clean if at all. Not even being funny but Claw has been terrible for 30 years because of Super Turbo. The cheapness of the game really takes away from how fun it can be at a moderate to high level.

Yeah, it's possible. How, depends on the situation. In neutral, Claw can essentially play a full-fledged neutral game with walldive alone, so you want to think about what Claw wants to do and counter that. If he's looking to air to air, he'll be pressing buttons early. If he's looking for an honest attack, he's looking to press late, so you can try eg. backjump air to air or to catch him early in the walldive trajectory (Cammy and Ken are good at that, for example). If he's doing it as an oki option, you'll likely have throw invul (ST has a random amount of throw invul on wakeup, a bit under 7% chance of 1 frame, all the other options are over 10 frames, up to nearly 30) so it's a simple left-right mixup that's complicated by Claw being able to cross you up and back again sometimes, which can screw with your inputs. But you can reversal it or block the left-right. The guessing game is basically never in the defender's advantage, of course, but it's a human-controlled mixup so you can try to read what the Claw player wants to do. O. Ryu also has an OS with dp and tatsu so he'll get more strike invul frames on waking up regardless of which side Claw lands on, but it's hard to do.

I’m an old Hyper Fighting player with Zangief. Played someone at Logan Arcade that did that Vega cheap on me we just saw. Seems like it’s unblockable most of the time. If it’s a glitch in the game, ban the character.

The claw strikes are never unblockable, it's just a hard to see left-right mixup and Claw can use his air control to mess up your inputs which makes non-block defenses hard to do. When you're waking up, you're almost always throw invulnerable so the throw isn't a concern. The game has actual unblockable attacks, but Claw doesn't have them.

Ryu guy played the matchup well. Spaced fireballs so he could sweep butt splash. Good awareness on jump back strong to combo super afterwards. Good fireball traps and pokes to keep Honda out (that standing forward was sick). Yes, it's a good MU for Ryu but it's not like Ryu can just mash and get a free win. By the end, the Honda was stuck blocking in the corner. Mark of a good player is convincing your opponent they can't do anything
