I have a 4 Gen - Top end CVT 2016 model Driven 147000 - I have not encountered anything much of what’s stated in the video as a caution to the buyers. I still get 20 KMPL on expressway. I have changed front suspension links once. Even some of the tail lamp bulbs are still original! PROS - Reliable, low cost of maintenance, durability, world best iVtech engine and Honda badge CONS - weak headlights, weak AC and has blind spots….. I will sell my car when 6 Gen city will come in 2025 !

@punc1214

@@Vrr841 im saying this from my experience as I have had same issues with two Honda Amaze's in my family. One needed suspension change at 50 thousand kms and another at roughly 60 and cost is around 45 thousand rupees. In addition to this the steering rack is on its last leg and can give up any moment and that will require another 40 thousand INR to fix. And btw both the cars were driven by elderlies in the house. As far as roads are concerned all other cars in my garage have used same roads and suspension still going strong at 90 thousand kms. To iterate more, I live in Delhi, so you can imagine that the car has been driven on some of the better roads in the country.

Proud owner of a 2010 Ivtech MT city. Yea the car is showing it's age but nothing out of ordinary. The engine is ❤ Recently did a Delhi Haridwar and back trip. It flies and stays stable at 120+. Definitely missed having a 6th gear but the new one has it. Yes Honda is very much reliable. Also very easy on pocket in terms of maintenance.

I own a 2016 Jazz i-Dtec running 1.7L km on the odo. Apart from Periodical services, I've changed tyres and brake kits when it wears out. Changed the clutch assembly at 1.20L km (20k approx) and front suspension at 1.40L km (15k approx) as it was making a slight noise. 19k/l even if I drive enthusiastically and drives great on hills. The diesels from Honda has poor NVH levels. despite that, Honda i-Dtec's are great.

I have 2012 civic.. The car is infact an acura, acura csx in Canadian market sold as civic elsewhere. The car feels like a german car in its manners and feel.. The excellent NVH is the firat thing one notices as they shut the doors. I have travelled in mercE class and then immediately hopped into my civic and i dont notice any sense of lack in sound insulation or general quality levels.. Such is the level of build of civic. The car is a visual delight too.. The interiors are expansive and airy.. AC is a chiler. Maintenace is just peanuts barring any body parts.. Legendary car.

AC on our 2014 VX CVT remained ineffective since new. Eventually the compressor failed after 5 years. It used to cool a little only when the car was moving but no cooling when standstill. Finally replacing the compressor fixed it but it was no match compared to our Brio, Cedia and other cars at home. Private AC mechanics told that it's an inherent issue with all 4th gen Citys. Infact, the same issue was there in my cousin's 2015 City Diesel as well. Another issue is bad seating posture in this car by design. I always have back pain even on a short ride but never faced this problem in our other cars. Ride quality is very poor and harsh. Rear end gets unsettled on expressways that you can't drive beyond 90kmph. Our Mitsubishi Cedia rides way better on the same roads.

We have the idtec in the Amaze and the engine has been very reliable so far. We have driven it close to 90K. Clutch repair happened just a 1000km or so ago. But it was still just around 10K INR in cost. My dad drives it pretty hard. The performance is excellent, he gets 21-22 kmpl mileage even after driving hard in a mix of city and highway. This is overall favorite car, but he loves his 2015 City Petrol as well. He only gets 12 with that. When I drive the City, I can get around 14-15. I imagine I’d easily get 25-26 with the Amaze. The engine is reliable. and it stops there. Cheap interiors. Low sound insulation. The dashboard rattles. Over time the entire suspension has been swapped out. a stupid choice with the 185 section tyres. Had to upgrade those. The cruise control was a cheap fix but dear god no mechanic in kolkata knew how to fix it. Drive a 2008 civic and then jump back into a 2018 city and you'll feel the difference in refinement. The difference in the 2 segments didn't have to be THIS STARK(factoring in a decade of age difference). Overall a joy to hoon around and cruise gently. Probably just expected the moon and stars from it upgrading from maruti(i realise marutis aren't bad afterall. good vfm).

Thank you so much for the video, I have been looking for something exactly like this for the last few days. A quick advice is needed for the same. I have a friend who is a mechanic and by his reference, there is a car in Vadodara city (I live in Surat), it's a SV model of 2018 and his ask is 5.5 Lakhs. But I doubt as I searched about the same models through Facebook and olx it's very low IMO and that is where my doubt gets even bigger as this year Vadodara city got flooded and I seriously doubt this car has been hit by flood as I can clearly see the water inside the car floor and other parts of the body via photos not visited the place yet. Should I continue with this car inspection at this price or should I continue my search with a different car as I heard that a flooded car gets so many problems after sometime? A little advice help is appreciated a lot, Thanks

Flooded cars are best avoided. Check the seat rails. If you see rust then it may have been submerged at some point

If you set up the engine to underperform of course it will stay reliable 😂. This engine can take an extra 20-25hp. Same with amaze also. But honda has almost like detuned it to reduce the stress. Of course it will last long. It should But everything else apart from the engine is a let down. Just par at max

Hondas not Honda's. Ravi has many Hondas. Atul needs to pay for his Honda's repairs. Evo of all places should know how to use english properly.

I have the 5th gen 6MT & it is horrible. Gone is the legendary smoothness of the ivtec - almost sounds diesel like. The 6MT feels like a truck. Clutch is horrible. 4th gen owners might have it better.

Bullshit. Honda diesels are cheap to maintain. I have had Amaze 2013. 5k-6k servixe cost. Never game me any maintenance problems. I have had nearly 6-7 honda cars in last 15 years. I will never ever buy anything else. I could have gone for the Germans but my pocket doesn't allow it.

I have a 2012 Honda Brio i-VTEC. It's covered 2 lakh kilometers. Only the suspension and steering rack were replaced at 1.5 lakh kilometers; otherwise, it gets regular servicing every 10,000 kilometers. The engine is awesome, and the mileage is great too-over 18 km/l.
