we have previously discussed how attractive shaman spells are, but i agree with what you said about this Aug spec looking just as amazing, not only that, this is a great opportunity not only for blizzard to try something new, but also for us as players to try out a new styled spec, Evokers conception and odd ability's have been a stepping stone for this, and i am all for it, Thank you for the Update and as always great quality video!

Gota be honest, slightly gutted we didn't get our CHONKY BOI black dragon tank! But I'm happy that blizz are trying something different. This feels like a nightmare to balance though in terms of buffing certain specs etc.

I think the more likely outcome is that this spec will not add enough damage to a 5 man group and be considered pretty bad for keys, but be completely mandatory batshit insane for raiding. If it turns out to be mandatory in a 5 man group, surely then every mythic raid comp is going to bring like 3+ of these which would be silly.

Dont want to be a doomsayer but i believe Blizzard just opend Pandoras box in terms of balancing in the futur. But i have to admit this spec sounds amazing in gameplay and what it offers. Augmentation will either be mandatory in every group or not brought at all. Just like back in the days when only shaman had bloodlust and shaman stacking was a thing and blizzard never even could make this one ability balanced and ended up to just give it to enough other classes so it doesnt matter anymore because almost anyone has that group buff.

I always wondered: it is not better to create a new spec for existing classes intead of creating a new whole class from scratch? I mean, from a new whole class you will have 2/3 new specs to balance each time, while with a single spec....well it's just one. Why go for the hardest route when you can choose the easyest way?

When I read it, I thought it was great. When I played it on the PTR? It's like they took spells away from the other two specializations before the expansion started and put them aside for this one. Even if they manage to balance it out and make it work.. the augmentation evoker will only be as good as the rest of the group... and that new breath of eons sounds sick.. but I didn't fall for those flying abilities even with the first two specializations. so we'll see.

You forgot to check the passives. When not in a raid your breath and ebon might is increased in strength by 40% so your 1400 main stat is because of the 40% boost instead of 1k.

Incredible... my mains are getting better each day. First it was my paladin, got reworked and now I enjoy playing it a lot! Now (soon) the 3rd spec on Evokers (my second char, was equal as my main in 10.0) so I will want to play this as well! Hard too choose what to play when the 3rd spec arrives! Which is a good thing! If Blizzard would rework every class to make the fun to play and with new mechanics added and more play style changes (less buttons or more), the game would be much more attractive for a lot of players. P.S.: The 3rd spec seems to have the defensive capabilities that the others don't have? I hope they would do something about the defensive of the evokers, the class feels like a cloth class.

I really hope it works out well because if it does it opens up so many possibilities for not only more classes and specializations but also gameplay styles. I'm so glad it's a dps spec. I was hoping for tank but I'm' happy with this. I'm also glad it's not a disc type support healer. As far as damage.... I'm thinking in 5man's they should probably do near equal damage to other dps, but in raids probably just amp a group of 5.

I know I’m in the minority on this but the “black flight” spec being a “support” spec feels really weird and doesn’t make any sense to me. Even weirder it’s a “dps support” so it’s going to be a brand new support “role” that sits forever in dps queues for dungeons and lfr, and possibly being a meta requirement in m+. Feels like it would have made more sense to do the same philosophy but be a tank instead that boosts allies while holding off enemies. Tank aligns more with everything I know about the flight of the Earth Aspect. When you think of every black dragon in WoW lore, the “Guy who boosted his allies to be more powerful” was never what comes to mind.

Lotro captain(support class)main here. The augmentation evoker In essence does not do as much damage like a normal DPS spec/class but makes it up by buffing the groups DPS.

Imo, they should have made it a tank with no party enhancement. The fantasy of black dragon tank can go far. That wouldve been much cooler. I don't see this being popular. It might be good and the buffs might be strong enough to mean the difference between a kill and wipe, but it's going to be a hard sell for to tell any player that you'll be at the bottom of the meters, even if you are making everyone better and are a lynchpin of a group. It's going to take a certain kind of player that will be ok with being just a buff bot. Currently devastation is a powerhouse, so the buffs + damage augmentation brings have to be stronger than devastation alone or then why would you take it over dev.

I can see a situation where blizzard nerfs a class thats overperforming because their spec utilizes the buffed stats better than other classes, and then you just have a above average spec which is only the case when recieving buffs but a bottom of the pack spec without them. Balance is going to be a nightmare, but i guess we will see what happens when it is live.
