For those wanting non evolution blades such as higher tooth counts, Saxton blades do evolution specific blades for wood and recently released a multi purpose version of there own. Only can vouch for the wood blades but they work great

Thanks for making the video, was very useful as I've just got one of these. One thing I had to do was dremel out the elongated fence mounting holes to give a bit more movement as my fence would not quite allow a perfect 90°. So for those who say they can't get it to be accurate that might be one of the reasons.

Hi, I’ve found this really useful as I inherited my dads tools when he sadly passed earlier this year. I’m struggling to get the bevel to tilt right over to 45 degrees but will now try as per your video to see if I can get it to 45 degrees
@TheYorkshireMix2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to here that. Yeah just make sure to slide the back plates out the way and you should get the 45 degrees ok pal👍

Interesting hands on review of your Evolution, picked up some useful tips along the way, thanks... 👍🏻 Recently purchased a cordless Ryobi model, with its partner stand, and am really enjoying using it... ✅ It does not have quite all the facilities your corded Evolution has but it will do me nicely!
@TheYorkshireMix3 жыл бұрын
I must admit it was a hard choice between the ryobi and the evolution but the fact i can cut steel with it won me over 👍

I had this one and just sold it. It is a good saw but it has 2 things that I did not like: 1. Saw blade mount is not standard, I cannot mount my Diablo blade on it. 2. Dust extraction is really bad even I modified it to catch more dust but still not that great. Unless you work outside all the time but if your workshop is indoor like mine, then good luck. I ended up buying the Makita LS1019 (Price is bit more than the Evolution but dust extraction is excellent and the saw takes less space too. I would say the dust extraction is as good as the Festool Kapex KS120 )
@TheYorkshireMix3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it will only take evolution blades. I opted for this over makita simply because it will cut steel so its like a 2 in 1 tool for me👍
@pking393 жыл бұрын
@@TheYorkshireMix The Makita can cut metal too but the draw back is, you have to buy another blade for it (You could buy the multi purpose blade that cut both Metal and Wood)
@martinpoole14513 жыл бұрын
The Makita is nearly double the price.

@@pking39 Ah, in the UK Evolution sells for £270 and the Makita £590, Evolution also cuts metal, and brick more of and all rounder, although I think the Makita is more refined unit.

Hi just out of interest the top sliding fence and bottom fixed fence are they flush, only on my DB they are not flush there is a ridge 0.5 mm. It's a manufacturing fault.
@TheYorkshireMix2 жыл бұрын
To be honest mate I've not noticed as it's not something I use that much. I will have a look next time I go in the man cave👍

I’ve got this one mate, only thing I find with evolution is the rpm’s. They run slow which presumably is to cut steel as well as wood. However, I find that because of this, when cutting small pieces such as laminate floor edging that it has a tendency to grab even with a High tooth count blade. Beast of a saw though and done a great job on skirting, just get some wheel wobble at times resulting in a slightly bowed cut. My guess is it’s not really for more accurate work but does a good job with bigger stuff. For the price it’s very good
@TheYorkshireMix3 жыл бұрын
Not really noticed any wheel wobble on mine but It only gets used occasionally for hobby use at the moment. It is a great tool though and I will be using it to cut a lot of steel soon so hopefully it will handle it👍

Interesting - learnt a few things that weren't in the instructions :) Would like to see more about the compound cuts you used for your garden tables at 13:42 Have you got a video on how you set the saw up to make these?
@TheYorkshireMix3 жыл бұрын
I haven't got a video of them at the moment unfortunately. I can't remember what I actually cut them off at but I might have it written down in the garage somewhere. You can find the cut angles for the pyramid shape on a Google search. This is how I got the cut setting lol. Hope this helps 👍

Sr when you stop the machine, she do a big spark inside motor . That is normal or it is a problem in the rotor?

That's normal with any brushed motor. Definitely not a problem 👍

Hallo Sir, how you calibrate 90 degree vertical bevel angle on r255 sms DB? I notice there is 2 calibration screw at 90 and 45 on r255 single bevel...What about this Double Bevel? Is there a screw to calibrate 90 degree angle?

Thank you for honest review now I see that saw is a waist of money, and slow for cutting metal 👍👍👍👍👍
@TheYorkshireMix2 жыл бұрын
It's definitely not a waste of money. I think its a great saw for the money and the fact you can even cut steel on it is a plus. Its not going to cut though steel as fast as a dedicated steel cutting machine though 👍

can you put the evolution blade in any mitre saw to cut wood and metal ??
@TheYorkshireMix3 жыл бұрын
To be honest mate I'm not really sure. I suppose if the hole size on the blade is the same as what your saw takes then it might be possible however this evolution saw is designed to cut everything so another saw trying this might end up getting damaged if it's not made for that. The bore size on my blade is 1" or 25.4mm if that helps 👍
@TheFazer19923 жыл бұрын
Nope, unless the saw has a variable speed setting and you get the arbor to fit the blade. Evolution saws are a slower spin to cater for its multi blade which isn't like most metal blades. It doesn't really cut the metal as such (hard to explain) but it's the reason why it doesn't generate heat like normal metal cutting.

Really good video, but please get some ear defenders. When your hearing has gone it's gone.

Cheers pal. Yeah I normally use some 3m earplugs but I had run out at the time I filmed this so I ordered some 3m ear defenders after trying to cut the steel in this video. I use them all the time now instead of earplugs when im at home👍

@@bobbod8069 I'm sure you will be very happy with it mate. Just make sure the back stop is square to the blade. Mine was out of square a little when I got it but it was easy to sort out and I've never had to square it up again since 👍
