Unpopular opinion, the Newborn is awesome. I get that it's design isn't as "cool" as your standard xenomorph, but as far as a fucked up mix of xenomorph and human goes, I think its pretty great. The way it behaves in the movie feels quite believable too. You can see it switching between both its vulnerable human side and apex predator xenomorph side.

The drone alien for 1979 is incorrect, it wasn't until Alien: Resurrection that the drones with double jointed leg were introduced. The Alien in the original film had a single knee joint, the same as the human wearing the suit.

I don’t know if this counts but in alien isolation the devs changed the legs to look like a creature that would move faster basically introduced the double knee joint but before that it was normal “human like legs and I think that’s what film core choose as for design of the drone.

I'm so happy the creative teams managed to design the Xenoporph into a believable creature onwards. Humans are the only animals on the planet that step on their heels while walking, because the body is not designed for that, that is why we have knees, hips and lower back problems and pains overtime (sorry creationists but God did not create us, we get to walk badly for the social evolution need to stand up straight which is counterproductive for our bodies)

Incredible rendering and music. Well done!!! There's just some few mistakes about the looking of some aliens. The original Alien (from Giger) has normal feet as a human and doesn't walk on his toes like a dog. The warrior Aliens (from James) are just a little bit bulkier than in this video. And the legendary Aliens queen (from Stan and James) is totally different. Here we have more the AVP's queen (different body, shape, crown, taller and bulky as a T-rex). The original and true queen is a very feminine creature, elegant, very very thin and walk with a very particular posture. But again, this job is amazing! Thanks for sharing.

The type of feet dogs have are called digitigrade feet. As you can already tell, digitigrade feet is classified when a species walks on their toes; plantigrade feet is when a species uses their entire foot to walk (examples include crocodiles, bears, and us humans); and unguligrade feet is when a species walks on hooves. So in context of the alien franchise, the original alien has plantigrade feet; while other versions of the Xenomorph have digitigrade feet. (Actually the more I think about it now, why am I applying biology the the “Alien” franchise? I’m not even an Alien fan.)

Really liked this - a great video... However I only have one criticism - the "dogs leg" feature of the xenomorph only made an appearance from Alien3 onwards! Have you thought about rendering this in a VR video for headsets - would be pretty amazing in stereoscopic 3d. Or even also as a VR experience if you made this using a game engine.

Great video, like all of these I've watched thus far. However, there were a few mistakes in this one. For the very first Alien, the legs weren't like that at all. The old costume made its body shape much more human-like. In Aliens, the Queen had mor of a "corset"-like chest, and heel-like feet and was overall more spidery in her movements (the dinosaur-like one, is from AvP). Also the runner from Alien 3, was more brown-ish, than black. The rest was great. :) Keep up the great work. ^^

yes, and they got those bent legs from the evolution of the runner so onwards the knees were now shaped like that.

3:29 hahaha the little deacon is like the phycotic child in this family. Overall it was a pretty well done video. I think my favourite design is the Warriors but Grid, the original one,the protomorh and neomorph are interesting because of how they had there own personalities too an extent.

Great video, and I think you should remake this for two reasons #1 you should add some of the video games like AvP 2010, Aliens Colonial Marines, Alien Isolation and Aliens Fireteam Elite, #2 the some models for this video weren’t the proper and movie style like and you didn’t showcase the Xenomorphs from Alien Resurrection besides the Newborn and The Xenomorphs from AvP Requiem besides the Predalien This is just an idea to think about maybe in the future but still good video Favourite Xenomorph: Grid ( which is what my profile is )
