I think my favorite visual detail from Baal Zebul’s design in her Deadly Sin form is part of her dress being an amphibian-like mucus membrane. That’s so cool to me because she still has bits of her “monsterous” forms in her final design. Also another fun fact is that amphibians (and reptiles) have unhinged jaws made for swallowing prey whole. Baal not only has a super wide mouth for eating, but also for singing and you can sometimes see how far her lips stretch across her face if you pay close attention.

My headcanon is that bayo’s soul is being protected by either madame butterfly, Baal or phantasmarae in inferno.

I’d like to assume that due to Baal being demon royalty that she’d have the strongest abilities in that department considering she has full control over a huge part of the inferno as it is her domain.

The thing is with contracts there supposed to be a whole meal for their contracted demon but ever since bayo 2 happen and we didn't fight styx idk how true that is anymore

If I had to guess, demons were busy breaking ranks and ignoring pacts during bayo 2. Styx probably has a grudge against rose lady for what she did, but didn't have to lift a finger after Rodin turned the thief into a weapon.

@@noxythegreat maybe bcs Alraune stole Jeanne's soul before Styx had a chance to get her. We dont know what bond Styx and Jeanne have, so her just deciding to munch on her soul is possible. Styx is much older than Butterfly, with Butterfly and Cereza being roughly the same age (500). For Cereza i do think there is a chance Madama Butterfly protects her since it was mentioned they had a strong bond. They basically have the same personality lol. Maybe Butterfly is Rosa? Just a crack theory haha. Also Baal does like her. Phantasmaranea too, even tho he is Tsundare about it but i think he would be less likely to do so.

As soon as I realized that we finally got to see Baal's true form, I actually squealed. Ever since reading her page in the bookof demons on Bayo 2, I'd been so curious as to what she really looked like. And let me tell you, the character designers and modelers delivered more than anyone could have asked for. I love her so much and would die for Baal.

I just realized that in DMC, there is ALSO a frog demon named Bael (and its alternate self, forgot what the name is) Only similar in name and species, though, unlike the case with Phantom/Phantasmaraneae, where the similarities are abundant.
