Those were good times. Me and two friends would get online and party up nearly every night running suppressed UMP 45's and SPAS 12 in the secondary slot. Ever since the 360 generation ended online console gaming has never felt quite the same. Can't even stay in the same lobby for rematches anymore. 😮‍💨

A detail you missed in terms of modeling authenticity, is that the folded stock does not actually allow you to see through the iron sights in real life. If you tried to ADS for a folded SPAS you'd just see the metal of the stock(it has no hole for the sights through it). Very astute of you to notice the MW2 version has a screwed in Pic rail because IRL it has no way to add one. It would have had to be specially modified like it appears in the game. The later games make the rails look like they came that way from the factory which is a detail seemingly forgotten by the devs.

There is a rail mount for the SPAS-12 in real life, but it was a more rearward mount that attached via the pins holding in the fire control unit, not screwed into the top of the receiver like many games depict.

@@DirtFather407 You can aim with the stock folded if you have a laser sight. I attached a mag tube mounted picatinny rail on my SPAS-12 alongside a Streamlight TLR-7 and can aim with the stock folded and make hits that way. It’s generally not a good idea to aim shotguns that don’t have a stock down the sights, because without a stock to anchor the gun into your shoulder, recoil could easily cause the gun to slam into your face in an unpleasant manner.

Black ops was basically what introduced me to the Cod franchise, and I immediately fell in love with its version of the Spas, and is probably one of my favorite shotguns to this day and age, and boy would I love to get my hands on one

An interesting thing to note is that the dual mode function was designed with allowing the use of standard high brass buckshot (for semi) and specialized low power shells such as bean bags (for pump). Dragon's Breath shells are the latter and thus would not function in the SPAS-12's Semi-auto mode like is depicted in Black Ops 1

Love how this shotgun just made it's return (again) in season 4 reloaded of MWIII. Funny enough, if you have Mag Holster (or Speed Cola in Zombies) they brought back the OG, albeit incorrect, reload animation of MW2'09

If you're branching out into fallout (love that franchise btw), I'd definitely give a look at the 10mm pistol. Basically a staple of the franchise. Hell, I even got one with an explosive shot perk in FO4 that easily carried me into the late game. Got a lot of nostalgia for that little thing.

Are we not going to talk about how in MW2, even though the SPAS 12 is depicted as a pump-action, upon firing you can see the charging handle on the side move back and forth like a semi-auto yet the operator then pumps the shotgun to load a new round. Bit of a gun guy so stuff like this sticks out.

Lng, I really appreciate showing weapon animations and sounds without any other sound. It's not something most people seem to do, and it makes their videos feel like they are missing something. Combine that with the extra effort of adding old versions of weapons to compare to remake versions, and your weapon videos really are top tier!

I don’t know why but I love the Cold war SPAS the most, whilst taking the gun to the reloading position the animations says: “my baby, I will hold you carefully”, and then proceeds to reload the shells with malicious intent.

Loving this new series as someone who has a strong love for both Halo and CoD. I remember in one of your previous videos you mentioned how you don’t really like shooting real guns because of how loud and kinda scary they are. Would you ever consider shooting at a private range to get a better experience? Could be a fun video in itself especially given how you’re now doing weapon history videos on real life guns. Also a couple weapons that I think would be great for this series: M1 Garand MP40 MP5 Desert Eagle AK-47 M4/M16

I don't think I ever really used the spas 12 whenever I played black ops at at friend's house back in the day, but this is absolutely my go-to weapon. I mainly only play zombies, and the gallo is an excellent choice for anyone who pretty much just wants to shut their brain off and kill zombies. Also the ray gun mastercraft is pretty great.

I think the M1 Garand, AK-47/AKM, MP5,, & Barrett M82 would all be great choices for videos. Also the Hauer 77 isn’t an Ithaca 37 it’s actually a Stevens Model 77E which was the most widely used shotgun in the Vietnam war.

the breach release mistake is a very popular mistake in many shooters, and understandably it could be because many games relied on movie/show depiction of the gun to base on rather than research the real deal, often and likely because of difficulties getting to do that research depending of the time period and place, or due to lack of interest in being accurate and assuming it works just like the other pump action shotgun

Something I never noticed until this video, MW2's Spas-12 has an animation problem that bugs the shit out of me. When you fire it while ADS, the charging handle cycles back before pumping the gun AND during. I can't unsee it now.

the spas 12 doesnt even need to be in a semi auto mode, the whole point of the gun is being able to fire the gun in both semi and pump action if you want to do either, and it seems treyarch actually showed this pretty well despite the gun being semi auto only in the game.

It's not either-or like a fire select switch. It fires in semi-automatic with *full power* shells, and pump action with *weaker* ammunition.

I would like to add that in cold wars version of the spas 12 there is a flaw in the reload animation while yes the operator does bush the breach button to actually load the gun they do not pull the charge handed to chamber a shell or even pump the gun which yes I understand that it's in semi mode so pumping it is wrong it still would have been better than just nothing the operator isn't able to shoot the gun because they haven't chambered it yet and it's always bothered me
