Honestly, I like the old Dooms much more. Everything was much more ambiguous and mysterious, the atmosphere of those years transported you to another place, today everything is too clear and leaves no room for imagination. The enemies seem too realistic caricatures, the mystery, the fear, the confusion has been lost, you felt as if the game wanted to tell you something that you were not able to understand, on the other hand, the original soundtrack will always be unsurpassed.

If the old dooms were released today you'd say they suck. We like old doom because we played it in the 90s when it was released. Back then it was disruptive and revolutionary. They are a product of the time.

I agree. I think Doom 3 captured the original doom vibe so well with the level design, its just too bad it wasn't an action shooter. I think the original doom remade with doom 3 level design would be so good

​@@johnny_ethчастично да, но всё же классические думы имеют другой, более приятный вайб. Это и классическое оружие (кроме бфг и плазмагана) против футуристического в eternal с кучей наворотов. И отсутствие сюжета, который нужен шутера так же как и порно. И хардкорная необходимость самому искать ключи, в то время как в eternal тебя ведёт маячок (можно отключить, да). И мультяшность вылетающих из монстров предметов... По общему ощущению, классика всё же выигрывает в этих моментах, как по мне.

For those like myself who had the opportunity to play doom PC game on release date on December 10, 1993. I suddenly realized, my PC running 386-DX20 was incapable of running Doom Properly. I used all my savings to get latest Intel 486-DX2-66 and a Sound Blaster 16 sound card 2 days later. Put my Sony Hi-Fi system for which I paid $1200 in Dec 1992, use a high quality 3.5mm to RCA cable and I was the envy of my neighborhood and friends. Greatest memory of my college years.

I thought Doom Eternal was fun, idk how hard I gripped the controller playing that game hahaha. But I also think the brightness and the fluorescent crap ruined it. I want Doom to go back the the dark horror theme, jump scares and all. Doom 3 was really great for the day. If they remade it I’d buy it up.

I'll take the Doom games from the 90s any day over the newer versions. They play better, and are just more fun. The newer Doom games are all about the graphics and storyline the actual gameplay seems like a bonus.

I really want the next Doom to be a dark horror type of game. No more bright fluorescent crap, no more zipping around with a grapple gun. Just dark, mysterious Doom. Straight up horror! Maybe some realism in their too with flashlights and such.

Doom was an unforgettable experience in 1993. It's just a thing that can't be repeated with the same recipes. Doom 2 (1994) was already boring. Doom 3 (2005) was just uninteresting to me. It's maybe a good feeling for people who used to play with these ultra short sequences where the scenes are clearly visible. For me no. I prefer the pioneers era (for FPS) (when the only use of brain is to shoot and run). Old timer.
