Great video! Fun facts about the Edmonton LRT: It was the first city in North America to reintroduce modern LRT to the Americas, it was the smallest city (In the America's) at the time to also introduce rapid transit (just under 500,000 people at the time, now we're 1 million strong) and also the Northern-most rapid transit system in the "New World" as well... Just goes to show you, any city of similar size or location can certainly build itself a rapid transit network if they wanted to... We're looking at you Spokane... Anchorage... Boise... ;-)

edmonton needs a complete metro system already. they are building it too slow...... they should have a ring line that connects all seperated routes because this system has already proven to be NOT effective or working for decades. Please learn from China, Japan and Moscow. (China has the best system) We should learn from them. because we have routes that are all separated....

Especially when you find out Edmonton once had 93 KM of streetcar's back when its population was less than 93,000 or so.... We are now just 42 km of train lines with 1,000,000 residents... The network density is shameful compared to what it was and what it SHOULD be... Also when find out Edmontonians LOVE the LRT and use it almost more heavily on a per mile basis than any other rapid transit network in North America baring NYC, Mexico City, Toronto, Montreal, Guadalajara, Boston...

back then, we did not have politics, but now, we ONLY have politics which they only get money and not do anything... this is why our country is so far behind compared to middle east, china and others... think of a well developed city in this world STILL building new LRT? hahaha. this is an old and not efficient technology...... we are not advancing, we are going backwards due to politics. @@stickynorth

@@stickynorth alot of western cities that we self proclaimed the best, are far less developed then cities in asia. we need to fix the pot holes, better design, complete metro and high speed rail. and we need it to the airport. We need more bridges to avoid traffic. We need to hire designers and engineers from China and learn from them. Our engineers cannot do advanced and effective designs that we need. This is why our traffic and infrastructure are always the worse compared to the other world. Learn from Korea, China, Japan. If you have travelled there you would know.

The City Effed up so many Roads with Poor Routing and Design, and they didn't learn from the Eff Ups on the South Side along 114st and 111 st, then more Eff Ups around the Royal Alex, and Kingsway. Totally Effed up along 102 Ave, 107st, 104 ave, Stony Plain Rd, 156 st, and a part of 87 ave, only doing it Properly once it gets to the Misericordia Hospital, and it goes Elevated.
