Man, the first time I was getting that star chip in the Beach Bowl Galaxy, I approached it from the side and had no idea there was a cavern there. When I finally got to it, the camera changed angles so that I saw nothing but a huge gaping mouth and a pair of black eyes. Needless to say, I didn't go back there for 2 months. After that, I hadn't seen any eels for a while, so I thought that they were gone for good. Then came the Sea Slide Galaxy, where I was just cruising along and another one comes out of nowhere and scares the hell out of me. Didn't try swimming through the rings again until I did everything else in the Engine Room. And don't even get me started on the Drip Drop, Bigmouth and Deep Dark Galaxies... TL;DR: Super Mario Galaxy's eels traumatized me as a kid, to the point where I think they're scarier than Odyssey's.

I think the og SM64 eel still is the creepiest of the bunch, imho. The Odyssey eels would be able to top it, but they're always sationary. If they could roam around freely like Unagi does, they certainly would take first place. Gringills, I found to be extremely creepy when I first played Galaxy but not so much when I played it again on the 3D Colletion.
