If you think about it: Mario and Luigi has a huge debt toward the Yoshi Clan, a debt they've finally even in Super Mario World by saving all the baby Yoshies. :)

Very true. I always thought that ever since the Yoshi saved Baby Mario and Luigi they told the story of there adventures and the generations of Yoshi afterwards remembered the stories there elders told them. And when Mario arrived on Dinosaur land upon seeing Mario's Red Cap they recognized him as the baby from the stories and decided to help him and Luigi from then on like there parents did. I always thought that the Chief Yoshi in Paper Mario was the Original Green Yoshi from Yoshi's Island....though that may be Super Mario Bros Z Talking 😅

Yoshi's new island I'd say is the worst because... 1. The normal ending is a copy of the original Yoshi's Island. 2. The other ending where you beat all the lvls without assist and fight the secret boss--Adult Bowser---has no backstory. It only says, "Suddenly, warping through space and time, King Bowser appears!" It could've done so much more!!! An Ok twist, but bad story.

The man in the pipe, who helped Yoshi throughout the game, is actually (a time-traveling) Mario. In the end, he returned to the present.

That only comes in the secret ending when you beat all the levels without assist, return to the final castle, defeat Baby Bowser, then fight adult Bowser and rescue Baby Luigi again. Also it's at the end of the credits.
